Nearly 170 student volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities attended the send-off ceremony for volunteers going to work in residential areas of Hanoi in 2011, organized by the Hanoi Youth Union, on the morning of July 15, 2011.This year, the activities of the Green Summer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will mainly focus on Soc Son district (Hanoi) from July 15th to August 5th, 2011, with 5 groups in 5 different communes:
- Phu Cuong commune: includes 29 students from the departments of Archival Studies and Office Management, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Information - Library Science, and Sociology.
- Thanh Xuan commune: includes 40 students from the International Studies and Political Science departments.
- Tan Dan commune: includes 36 students from the History Department.
- Minh Tri commune: includes 30 students from the departments of Psychology, Management Science, Political Science, and Philosophy.
- Hien Ninh commune: includes 29 students from the Faculty of Literature
Each group is accompanied by one or two campaign reporters, all students from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. This is an opportunity for members of the Youth Union and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to showcase their professional skills, intellect, and enthusiasm, contributing to the socio-economic and cultural development of several localities. On the same day, July 15th, three students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities departed with the volunteer student group from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to work in Ha Giang. Previously, from July 6th, 120 students participating in the exam support program had already launched and successfully completed their tasks during the second round of the university entrance exams. In addition to the above volunteer models, a new activity this year is the survey of information on 2000 alumni, with the participation of 50 student volunteers.

The 2011 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is a practical activity in response to the Year of Youth. The campaign provides an opportunity for students of the university to interact and exchange experiences in youth union work and student movements with young people from several localities; creating conditions for students to experience real life, combining learning with practice, and contributing to building the right motivation for learning. Through the summer youth volunteer campaign, students have the opportunity to hone their political acumen and professional skills, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the Youth Union and Student Association. This year's campaign will last until August 31, 2011.
