At 7:30 AM on June 27th, the memorial service for Professor Phan Huy Le took place at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi. The funeral was organized by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Vietnam Historical Science Association, and the family.
Many Party and State leaders, leaders of various departments, along with colleagues and students from many generations across the country, came to bid him farewell for the last time.

Professor and People's Teacher Phan Huy Le has passed away, but the memories of him will forever remain in the minds and hearts of those who are left behind.

In a special interview conducted a few years ago by the Center for Journalism and Communication, we were fortunate to hear Professor Phan Huy Le share valuable information about his life.

Professor Phan Huy Le, People's Teacher, a renowned educator, a great scientist, and a leading historian of the country, former President and Honorary President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, has passed away suddenly at 1:06 PM on June 23, 2018, due to a serious heart condition. For over six decades, from the beginning of his career as a university lecturer until his passing, he tirelessly studied, worked, researched, taught, and dedicated himself to the development of education and the field of history in Vietnam. His entire life was a shining example of self-learning, unwavering determination, and a willingness to sacrifice himself for science, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people.

Professor Phan Huy Lê is widely known as one of Vietnam's most respected historical researchers.

Renowned historian and Professor Phan Huy Le passed away at 1:06 PM on June 23rd at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi.

Professor Phan Huy Le was born on February 23, 1934, in Thu Hoach village, Thach Chau commune, Thach Ha district (now Loc Ha district), Ha Tinh province – a culturally rich region of Nghe An province, steeped in patriotic and revolutionary traditions, valuing loyalty, diligence, and a love of learning. Both his paternal and maternal families were renowned scholarly lineages, producing prominent cultural figures such as Phan Huy Can, Phan Huy Ich, Phan Huy Thuc, Phan Huy Vinh, Phan Huy Chu, Cao Xuan Duc, Cao Xuan Tieu, and Cao Xuan Huy. His father, Phan Huy Tung, was a Confucian scholar and doctor who served in the Hue imperial court. He was known for his integrity, virtue, kindness, and deep love for his children and grandchildren.

At just after 1 PM today (June 23, 2018), Professor and People's Teacher Phan Huy Le - one of the four leading figures of contemporary Vietnamese historiography ("Lam - Le - Tan - Vuong") - passed away at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, leaving behind immense sorrow for his family, colleagues, friends, and generations of students.
