Professor, People's Teacher Phan Huy Le - Corresponding Member of the Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts (French Republic), born on February 23, 1934 in Thach Chau commune, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province, President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association (1988-2016), Honorary President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, former President of the Science and Training Council, Hanoi National University, former Director of the Center for Vietnamese Studies and Cultural Exchange, former Head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Faculty of History; former Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi National University; Head of the National Social Science Project for Research and Compilation of Vietnamese History, Ho Chi Minh Prize, State Prize for Science and Technology; Second-class Independence Medal, First, Second and Third-class Labor Medals; The Academic Palm Medal (Republic of France), Fukuoka Asian Cultural Award (Japan)... after a period of illness, despite the dedicated care and treatment of doctors and family, due to old age and serious illness, he passed away at 1:10 p.m. on June 23, 2018, i.e. May 10, Mau Tuat year, at the age of 85.
The visitation and memorial service will be held from 7:30 to 10:00 on June 27, 2018 (May 14, Mau Tuat year) at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. The burial ceremony will be held at Vinh Hang Cemetery Park, Hanoi at 1:00 p.m. the same day.
