The Faculty of Literature's Drama Night was created based on an idea from the faculty members. Initially, the target audience and scope of the program were limited. The competition was only aimed at students within the faculty. Recognizing the significant impact of the Drama Night on students in the university and wanting to expand the competition's scale, the Faculty of Literature's Student Union changed the name from Faculty of Literature's Drama Night to the Expanded Faculty of Literature's Drama Night.
The target participants for the Drama Night are students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who love drama. Team members can be from the same class, the same department, or affiliated departments. In addition, the Organizing Committee will accept two more drama teams/groups from outside the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who register earliest to participate in the preliminary round. After receiving registrations, the Organizing Committee will finalize the program details for the participating teams.
The performances are based on motifs from classical plays. However, the organizers strongly encourage students' creativity by writing their own scripts or combining drama with other art forms such as music.
The plays aim to promote love for humanity, altruism, compassion, and love for one's homeland, while reflecting social reality and providing satirical humor and criticism. The maximum time for each performance is 15 minutes.
La Thi No, a student from the K57 Literature program (High-Quality Program), and an active member who has participated in many seasons of the drama club, shared: “This is an annual activity of the Literature Faculty. It stimulates creativity in each student. As someone who has participated in acting before, I feel extremely excited. I am really looking forward to my class's performance. I hope the Drama Night will be held continuously so that we students can fulfill our passion.”
