Humanities students are eager to return to school.

The orientation session at the beginning of the academic year was organized to help classes summarize their studies and activities from the previous year, thereby drawing lessons for the coming year. At the same time, it served to reorganize class leadership and nominate students with the best academic achievements to receive certificates of merit from the Principal.

For students in cohorts 57 and 58, this was a familiar task. But for the students in cohort 59, this was their first time. Moreover, after their first summer break as university students and a month of military training in Hoa Lac, many students noticed changes in themselves and began to harbor aspirations for the future.

Sharing with a USSH reporter, Ho Tuong Linh (K59 Psychology) acknowledged the changes in herself: “My first summer vacation as a university student was also the longest time I was away from home because I had to attend military training in Hoa Lac. I thought more, realized I needed to be more independent, unlike when I was a high school student.”

After returning from Hoa Lac, I had a week off. I spent a month with friends studying military science, but I still want to see them. I hope this school year will bring some changes, giving me more energy to study better.”

Like Tuong Linh, Cao Quoc Thai (K59 Psychology CLC) still hasn't forgotten the month he spent in Hoa Lac, which gave him many new experiences. "After a month in Hoa Lac, experiencing many things, I understand my classmates better, see them in a different light, and realize they have matured compared to when I first met them."

"Being away from Hanoi for a month made me miss life there. Even though I was only gone for a month, I was amazed to see how much the scenery had changed. This year, the university is celebrating its 70th anniversary and has many activities. I support them all and look forward to exciting things from them," Thai excitedly expressed.

Meanwhile, Ngo Thi Thanh Hien (K59, Public Relations major) didn't want a summer break at all and wanted to stay in Hanoi longer. Hien shared: "I really want to go to Hanoi because I feel a bit useless at home. During high school summer vacation, I only wanted to go back to my hometown, but when I went to university, I realized I shouldn't waste my summer break. I want to work to gain more knowledge and experience. Next year, firstly, I hope to achieve better academic results, and secondly, I want to participate in many extracurricular activities and learn more foreign languages, especially Korean because I really like this language."

After two months away from school, Tuong Linh, Quoc Thai, and Thanh Hien all absolutely loved the newly opened canteen in the BC connecting building complex. Thanh Hien said, "When we left, the canteen was still under construction. When we returned, we were amazed by how beautiful and impressive it is." Tuong Linh, meanwhile, loved taking photos: "Seeing the newly opened canteen surprised me so much that I eagerly took pictures to show off the school's new canteen. I hope this will become a familiar place for me in the new school year."
