Protecting the environment starts with the smallest actions…
The current habit of students using bottled drinks is generating a large amount of plastic bottle waste into the environment. Among these, the plastic collected for recycling is PET (numbered 1 at the bottom of the bottle) – a type of plastic that can be drawn into polyethylene terephthalate fibers or taken to craft villages to be ground into microplastic granules, which can be used to make toys, construction materials, and interior and exterior decorations.
Understanding this reality, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, came up with the idea of collecting and exchanging plastic bottles for students in the university, with the aim of contributing to protecting a green, clean, and beautiful environment through practical and engaging volunteer activities. This activity is combined with the Lagom Vietnam project to raise awareness about environmental protection, aiming to change students' behavior and create a clean and friendly living environment.
