Meeting with the Mayor of Wellington (New Zealand)

On 02/05/2015, Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities) had a work meeting with Mrs. Calia Wade-Brown (Mayor of Wellington-New Zealand) and Prof. Roberto Rabel (Vice Rector of Victoria University of Wellington). Also there were Assoc.Prof.Dr.Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) and representatives from Faculty of History, Faculty of Information and Library Studies, and Office for International Training and Programs.

On January 26th, 2014, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of USSH) and representatives from Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Linguistics, Center for Chinese Studies, and Office for International Training and Programs had a meeting with the delegation from Guangxi University (China) led by Mr. Tang Pingqiu (Vice Secretary of the CCP Committee of Guangxi University).

On January 15th, 2015, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) held a seminar titled "The main solutions to develop foreign communication of Hanoi until 2020," with the participation of scientists and managers specializing in the culture, media, communication and external relations in Hanoi.

Meeting with Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages

On December 1st, 2015, Assoc. Prof.Dr.Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) of University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) met and worked with the delegation of the Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (Taiwan) led by Dr. Hsu Kuei Ying (Taiwan Education Center). Also attending were representatives of the Faculty of Linguistics, Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Languages, Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office for International Training and Programs.

On December 27th, 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) held the conference titled “Contemporary Asian cinema – history, aesthetics and style” with the participation of researchers from universities, research institutes and critics, as well as those working in the arts and cinematic areas.

Prof. Nguyen Van Khanh visited and worked at University of South Australia

Under the Protocol signed by University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) and University of South Australia (UniSA) on the transfer of technology and organizational model of Australia according to Vietnam in the context of international integration, following the invitation from UniSA, Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of USSH) led a delegation to visit and work in Australia from December 16th to 23rd, 2014.

Asia and asymmetry

On December 16th, 2014, Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh attended a presentation by Prof. Brantly Womach (Virginia University, United States) titled “Asia and asymmetry”. Participating in this meeting were Prof.Dr Vu Duong Ninh and many graduates from faculties of Oriental Studies, International Studies and Political Science.

Contributing to " East-Sea on academic process"

In mid-October, the international conference on "Disputes in the Vietnam East Sea: impact and approaches to peace and cooperation" with the participation of more than 50 Vietnamese and foreign scientists was held at USSH. Assoc. Prof.Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) talked about the outstanding results of the conference.

On December 5th, 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University) collaborated with École française d'Extrême (The French school of the Far East-EFEO) and Vietnam Association of Historical Studies to hold the international conference: “École française d'Extrême and Social Sciences and Humanities of Vietnam”.

Granting Aeon scholarships (from Japan) for 30 distinguished students

On April 12th, 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the granting ceremony of Aeon scholarship for the year 2014-2015. Participating in the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of USSH), Mr. Hiroshi Yokoo (Senior Executive Officer of Aeon corporation) and Mr Ishikawa Tadahiko (Regional Head at Aeon Vietnam).

Meeting with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam

On November 13th, 2014, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector) welcomed and worked with Mr. Hadi Soleimanpour (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran) and Mr. Hossein Alvandi Behineh (Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam) on the occasion of their visit to USSH.

Building a new platform for Korean Studies in the ASIA Century

“Building a new platform for Korean Studies in the ASIA Century” is the theme of the conference held by Korean Study Association in Southeast Asia (KoSASA) and University of Malaya on 23-25 ​​September, 2014 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), with nearly 80 participants from South Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
