The Rector briefly introduced about USSH, which has nearly 400 staff, over 10.000 students and relations with over 300 international partners, including Korean ones such as Daegu University of Foreign Languages, Busan University and Sanmyung University. USSH's Division of Korean Studies is a leading institution specializing in the field in Vietnam, having trained Korean language for employees of the Korean companies in Vietnam such as Samsung Electronics. The Rector hoped in the coming time, cooperative activities between the two universities would be rapidly promoted.
On behalf of Konyang University, Mr Seok Nam Yoon (Dean of Institute of International Education) expressed his thanks to USSH for receiving 04 students of his university to study at USSH's Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language. He hoped to send more students to study and do research in Vietnam, which would provide more job opportunities for Konyang University's students even in Vietnam. In exchange, Konyang University would be willing to welcome USSH's students.
Next, the two leaders signed on the MOU, according to which the two sides would focus on the following activities: dispatch/exchange of undergraduate, graduate students, and research scholars; participation in seminars and academic meetings; research cooperation; exchange of publications, academic materials and other information; and joint quality assurance and benchmarking. The MOU lasts for 5 years.
Konyang University located in Nonsan, South Korea, was founded in 1991. Konyang University has campuses in Nonsan and Daejeon. The Nonsan campus is the main campus with over 10,000 undergraduate students, eight colleges with more than forty majors, mostly in applied fields About 230 of the students are foreign students. The Daejeon campus has programs in Western medicine, medical technology, and nursing. The university has about 700 graduate students. It is accredited by the Korean Council for University Education.
