On February 26th, 2019, at his office, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH's Rector) answered questions from NHK World reporter Jun Yotsumoto on the occasion of the upcoming 2nd US-North Korea Summit in Hanoi.

Reporter Jun Yotsumoto posed questions about such issues as the significance of the US-North Korea Summit to regional and world peace and cooperation - is this going to be a breakthrough for peace? Why is Hanoi, Vietnam chosen as a destination for this event? How has Vietnam prepared for it? How is Vietnam going to take this opportunity to promote its image as well as strengthen cooperative relations with other countries in different areas?

One of the remarks by Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh in the interview: "This is not only an important Summit between President Donald Trump and President Kim Jong Un but also relevant to peace, friendship, and prosperity in East Asia and the world. I think Vietnam will become attractive to the world through this event".

He believed Vietnam will garner many benefits from this event. In tourism affairs, over 3,000 foreign reporters will report and promote about Vietnam as a country of beauty, hospitality and good cuisine. This is also an opportunity to promote business because entrepreneurs are going to recognize business opportunities and conditions here. In terms of international politics, if before Vietnam was viewed primarily as a country of war with negative implications, now you can see an important summit is going to take place here. The world has become more confident in Vietnam. This is a good message to send to the world.

The heat of the 2nd US-North Korea Summit in Hanoi has been spreading to University of Social Sciences and Humanities - a leading center of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, where leading historians, international relations scholars and political scientists work.
