Meeting with the delegation from Greifswald University (Republic of Germany)

On March 14th, 2019, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH's Rector) and representatives from Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed the delegation from Greifswald University led by Dr. Hasmik Hunayan (Director of International Relations).

At the meeting, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced about USSH, a leading institution specializing in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The Rector emphasized USSH's current strategy of internationalization, including strengthening cooperation with international partners. With regard to Greifswald University, the University hoped to continue receiving the former's visiting lecturers as accorded by the Eramus+ Teacher Exchange of the European Union.

On behalf of Greifswald University, Dr. Hasmik Hunayan expressed her thanks for being warmly welcomed by USSH. She said, apart from sending its visiting lecturers, Greifswald University is willing to grant Vietnamese students partial scholarships to study at Germany. She also invited Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh and USSH's staff to visit Greifswald University in summer 2019.

Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh happily accepted the invitation from Dr. Hasmik Hunayan. The Rector also invited Greifswald University's staff to participate in two events co-held by USSH in 2019, one is the Conference on regional security at the Baltic Sea and Vietnam East Sea in April, the other is the Meeting of Vietnamese DAAD Alumni in November. These two events will also gather some scholars and researchers from Greifswald University. In addition, USSH would also like to invite German students to enroll in its summer school programs and join its student clubs for extracurricular activities.

Greifswald University was founded in 1456 and is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Europe, with generations of notable alumni and staff having studied or worked in Greifswald. It has over 11.000 students and 5 faculties: Arts & Humanities, Law & Economics, University Medicine, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Theology.
