Meeting with the delegation from Moscow State Linguistic University

On March 6th, 2019, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH's Rector) and representatives of Faculty of Vietnamese studies and language and Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed the delegation from Moscow State Linguistic University (Russia) led by Prof.Kraeva (Rector).

At the meeting, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh mentioned the memorandum of understanding signed between USSH and Moscow State Linguistic University on the occasion of the visit by the high-level delegation of Vietnam's Party and Government to Russia from September 5th-12th, 2018. On that basis, the University hoped to begin fruitful cooperation with the later through such activities as exchanging students majoring linguistics, history, cultural studies and especially Vietnamese studies. In response, Prof. Kraeva expressed her gratitude for being warmly welcomed by USSH. She said, in the coming time, Moscow State Linguistic University would like to increase the number of students majoring Vietnamese studies from 10 to 30. Thus, Vietnamese language experts and teachers are highly demanded. As a first step, it proposes sending 5 students to study at Faculty of Vietnamese studies and language at USSH in the 2nd semester of the year 2018-2019. In addition, she invited Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh and USSH's staff to participate in the 90th Anniversary of Moscow State Linguistic University Ceremony next year.

Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the confidence for USSH by Moscow State Linguistic University and said USSH would also like to send students to study at the former, which is considered one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation in language training. In the far future, the two sides will be able to extend cooperation to training not only Vietnamese and Russian but also other languages in the world. 

Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) was established in 1930 as the Moscow Institute of new Languages, and received its current name in 1990. MSLU trains 36 languages and consists of 11 units: Faculty of English language, Institute of Law, Economics and Information Management, Faculty of humanitarian and applied sciences, Faculty of translation and interpretation, Faculty of German language, Faculty of French language, Faculty of distance education, Faculty of military education, Faculty of Education of foreign citizens, Faculty of lecturers' advanced training, and Institute of International relations and social-political Studies.
