Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there was Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector; representing the University of Education, Danang University, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Rector (online); representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen - Chairman of the Science and Training Council (online).

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the units affirmed the significance, scientific and practical value of the First National Historical Conference with the theme: "Research on national sovereignty and territory according to the orientation of a comprehensive and comprehensive approach to Vietnamese history". The first National Historical Conference was held to gather and summarize research achievements on national territorial sovereignty according to the comprehensive approach of Vietnamese history from 2014 to present, serving the strategies of building and protecting the country in the new historical context.
This is the first National Historical Conference to be held and will be a practice from 2024 onwards, every 5 years or so, taking turns to be held at major historical training and research institutions nationwide, on different topics to meet the requirements of science and social practice.
After open discussions, the delegates reached an agreement on the content, time, location and form of the conference, specifically:
1 - Conference content:
- Summarize research results on the process of establishing, affirming and protecting national territorial sovereignty of communities in Vietnam's territory in the course of Vietnamese history.
- Announce new topics, new sources of data, new approaches... in research on national territorial sovereignty to serve the orientation of comprehensive research on Vietnamese history.
- Exchange and discuss to propose solutions to further promote research on national and territorial sovereignty, especially sovereignty over seas and islands, contributing to the struggle to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
2 - Time: Expected to be held in 1 day June 15, 2024 (Saturday).
3 - Location:
The conference will be held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi City.
4 - Organizational form:
The conference will be held directly at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including three sessions: Opening Session, Discussion Session and Summary and Closing Session. The conference is expected to have the participation of about 250 scientists from universities and research institutes nationwide with 150 presentations. After the conference, the scientific reports will be edited, revised and finalized for publication. At the end of the meeting, representatives of the leaders of the units and sponsors signed an agreement as a basis for coordinating the successful organization of the conference.
