VNU-USSH: Promoting training cooperation and student exchange with universities in Guangxi province, China

On the morning of July 26, 2024, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and leaders of the university's units and faculties had a meeting and worked with Mr. Trinh Dai Vi - Counselor, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Ho Xuan Lieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and many universities, training and research institutions from Yunnan province, China.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities highly appreciated the cooperation activities between universities in Guangxi and the school in recent times.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomed the representatives of the leaders of the partner universities who visited and worked. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared the achievements that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved in the past time, proposed and exchanged, discussed the contents of cooperation in training, scientific research, exchange of lecturers and students, sharing learning resources, searching and granting scholarships for students and trainees of the school with partners, as well as expanding cooperation opportunities for mutual development.
According to Prof. Dr. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan: International cooperation is currently a strong trend of the school, contributing to the goal of becoming an advanced research university in the region and the world. Every year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomes about 200 students from Guangxi province to study and research. Students and trainees from Guangxi, China study at VNU-USSH in many different fields in programs from bachelor to master, doctorate, short-term training programs and are provided with the best conditions for studying, medical care, and cultural exchange with Vietnamese students.
Mr. Ho Xuan Lieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region affirmed: The Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region attaches great importance to the educational cooperation process with partners in Vietnam. Every year, Guangxi welcomes more than 1,700 Vietnamese students to study abroad, accounting for the largest proportion of international students. Vietnamese students are trained in depth through the advanced vocational education system, and are given special support in living, accommodation as well as finding career opportunities after graduation.
With the goal of building and developing the brand of universities in Guangxi, the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has successfully organized 78 educational forums between China and ASEAN countries. Accordingly, the International Education Exhibition "Studying in Guangxi" held in Hanoi from July 25 to 29, 2024 will further promote previously implemented cooperation projects, while opening up more scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese students in general and Humanities students in particular. 
Mr. Trinh Dai Vi - Education Counselor, Chinese Embassy shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a close relationship with training and educational institutions in Guangxi, China. With more than 23,000 Vietnamese students currently studying in China and 1,000 Chinese students studying in Vietnam, promoting educational cooperation will not only strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and China, but also serve as a bridge for cultural exchange between the two countries. As a bridge between the two countries, the Chinese Embassy will support and create favorable conditions for VNU - USSH to connect and expand cooperation with many major universities in China, as well as promote research cooperation between the school and major research institutions here.
At the meeting, representatives of both sides discussed and had many similar views on training cooperation possibilities, such as short-term training courses, bachelor training programs, student and lecturer exchanges, promoting teaching and research activities in Chinese studies, and jointly organizing research programs and seminars on Marxist Philosophy.
