10. Summary of new results of the thesis:

Ensuring political security in ethnic minority areas is an issue that many scholars are interested in and approach from different angles. For the first time, the issue of ensuring political security in ethnic minority areas is approached from a political science perspective. With that meaning, the thesis has made new scientific contributions, specifically:

- Contribute to clarifying some basic concepts such as: ethnic minorities, ethnic minority regions, land borders and ethnic minority land border regions. In addition, the thesis also clarifies some theoretical issues on political security and ensuring political security in ethnic minority land border regions; the viewpoints of the Party and State in ensuring political security in ethnic minority land border regions; subjects and responsibilities of subjects; content and factors affecting and influencing the assurance of political security in ethnic minority land border regions of Vietnam.

- Survey the current status of ensuring political security in the ethnic minority border area of ​​Vietnam - Laos in Dien Bien province from 2005 to present (2016). Thereby, draw out meaningful issues such as lessons learned in ensuring political security in the ethnic minority border area of ​​Vietnam - Laos in Dien Bien province.

- Forecast the possible developments of the situation, advantages and difficulties in ensuring political security in the ethnic minority border area of ​​Vietnam - Laos, Dien Bien province in the coming time; from there, propose solutions to ensure political security in the ethnic minority border area of ​​Vietnam - Laos, Dien Bien province.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis

Ensuring political security in ethnic minority areas is a top priority from many scholars, approaching at different angles. For the first time, the issue of ensuring political security in ethnic minority areas is approached from the political point of view. In that sense, the thesis has made new scientific contributions, namely:

- Contribute to clarify some basic concepts such as ethnic regions, ethnic regions, land borders and ethnic regions on the land border. Besides, the thesis is also clarified some discussed issues on political security and political security of ethnic minority areas on land border; the views of the Party and the State in ensuring the political security of ethnic minority areas on the land border; subjects, responsibility of the subjects; the content and factors affecting the political security of the ethnic areas on the Vietnam's border land.

- Survey on the actual situation in ensuring the political security of ethnic regions in Vietnam and Laos's boder from 2005 to present (2016), thereby giving the experience lession in ensuring the political security of ethnic regions in Vietnam and Laos's boder in Dien Bien province.
