- The thesis has covered important theoretical issues and the history of research on Japanese aesthetics in general and the aesthetic awareness in The Tale of Genji and The Thousand Cranes in particular.

- The thesis has shown that the development of aesthetic awareness in ancient and modern times represents a new approach to aesthetics through literature and vice versa.

- The thesis has clarified the basic and inherited characteristics of aware shown in The Tale of Genji and continued in A Thousand Cranes. From there, it clarifies the profound influences of aware in literary life from tradition to modernity.

- The thesis clarifies the changes of aware through comparing the cases of Genji and A Thousand Cranes. From there, it shows Kawabata's skillful assimilation of Japanese cultural values ​​through the aesthetic concept of aware in A Thousand Cranes.
