Based on an overview of scientific works both domestically and internationally, the thesis has developed a system of conceptual tools such as: Orientation; Values; Value education; and Orienting children's value education within the family.
The thesis indicated that parents are most inclined towards the goal of their children becoming traditional, compliant, and safe individuals, and least inclined towards the goal of becoming powerful, authoritative, and successful individuals.
A survey of Schwartz's value test, which covers 19 representative value groups, revealed that the values most frequently chosen by parents to educate their children are personal safety, fairness, equality, and caring for and protecting nature. Meanwhile, the values least frequently chosen by parents are stimulation, the power to control people, and the power to control material possessions.
To instill the values their children have set as intended, parents most often choose methods such as setting a good example, rewarding, analyzing and explaining, and organizing experiential activities; the least frequently chosen method of educating children is punishment.
The results also indicate that parental value orientation is the most influential factor in shaping children's value education within the family.
