10. Summary of new results of the thesis:
Based on an overview of scientific works in the country and around the world, the thesis has built a system of conceptual tools such as: Orientation; Values; Value education; Orientation of value education for children in the family.
The thesis has shown that parents most aim for their children to become traditional, compliant and secure, and least aim for powerful, authoritative and successful models.
Surveying Schwartz's value questionnaire on 19 representative value groups, the results showed that the values that parents chose the most to educate their children were personal safety, fairness, equality; care and protection of nature. Meanwhile, the values that parents chose the least were stimulation, power over people, and power over material things.
In order for children to achieve the values as set out, parents choose the most methods of setting an example, giving rewards, analyzing and explaining, and organizing experiential activities; the educational method that parents choose the least to educate their children is punishment.
The results also showed that parents' value orientation is the factor that has the strongest influence on the orientation of value education for children in the family.
11. Practical application:
The research results of the thesis are one of the reference sources for teaching Family Psychology, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and are also useful reference materials for parents, teachers, and managers in the work of orienting personality education for children and adolescents today.
12. Further research directions:
The study was extended to a number of areas such as mountainous areas and suburban areas. The comparative study aimed to point out the similarities and differences in the orientation of parents' values education in the regions: urban, rural, mountainous and suburban areas.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
Based on the literature review of studies in Vietnam and other countries, the thesis develops a system of concepts, such as: orientation; values; value education; value education orientation for children in family.
The findings show that most parents aim to educate their children to be traditional, obedient, and secure. Not many parents focus on the values of power, authority, and success when they educate orientate for their children.
Using Schwartz's Value Survey which consists of 19 typical value groups, the findings show that, most parents chose values such as personal security, equity and equality, care and protection of nature. In contrast, the values such as stimulation, dominance over people, and power through control of material and social resources were rarely chosen by parents.
Besides, the study also shows that in order to reach their goals, parents chose methods such as modeling; giving exemplary examples; reward; reward; commending, and organizing practical activities. The method that parents rarely use is punishment.
The study results also show that value orientation of parents played the most significant influence on values education orientation for their children in family.
11. Practical applicability, if any:
The findings of this thesis could be used as references for teaching in different sub-areas of Psychology, such as Family Psychology, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology. They could also be used as helpful references for parents, teachers, and educational managers for better personality orientation for children and adolescents.
12. Further research direction, if any:
Expanding the study settings to rural and mountainous areas. Comparative study would be helpful to examine the similarities and differences in parents' value education orientation for their children in different sites, including urban, rural, mountainous, and suburban areas.
