1.1. Research Objectives

This study examines the theoretical and practical aspects of adaptation to emergency response by fire and rescue police, the psychological manifestations of officers during duty, factors affecting adaptation to emergency response by fire and rescue police, and recommendations to improve adaptation to emergency response by fire and rescue police.

3.1. Main results

Research on adaptation in emergency response by firefighters and rescue personnel provides further scientific and practical basis for the fields of psychology and fire prevention and rescue. The thesis systematizes research on adaptation in emergency response, develops conceptual tools and a theoretical framework on the manifestations of adaptation in emergency response, common responses after emergency response by firefighters and rescue personnel, and identifies factors influencing adaptation in emergency response by firefighters and rescue personnel.

* In practice

Research results from 396 firefighters currently serving in four provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Vinh Phuc, show that: Firefighters and rescue personnel have a high level of adaptability in handling emergency situations. They understand the nature, methods, and procedures for resolving emergencies. They maintain a proactive attitude, readily accepting orders; their mindset is always proactive, positive, calm, confident, and resolute in carrying out their duties to the end. Their combat actions are highly effective, ensuring the successful completion of assigned tasks. This objectively reflects the professional competence of the firefighters, meeting the professional requirements assigned by society. The study also indicates statistically significant differences in the adaptability of firefighters and rescue personnel in handling emergency situations based on training level, rank, years of service, and area of ​​work.

Common psychological reactions among firefighters and rescue personnel during and after emergency response situations are normal. Common coping mechanisms include: sharing feelings, thoughts, and anxieties with colleagues; calling family members; and listening to music or watching movies after returning from duty.

Objective factors:environment; equipment, vehicles, machinery; commandand subjective factors:combat experience; professional skillsIt has the potential to predict/promote adaptation to address climate change, however, this predictive/promoting capability is not high.

3.2. Conclusion

Adapting to the handling of emergency situations by fire and rescue police is a proactive and positive process of changing the awareness, attitudes, and actions of officers in order to make quick, timely, and appropriate decisions in response to the demands of fire and explosion situations, preventing and controlling serious, unusual, and sudden incidents that could lead to severe consequences for individuals and society, while still ensuring their psychological and mental stability after the event.

The research results have proven the validity of the thesis's hypothesis that adaptation in resolving emergency situations by fire and rescue police officers is at a high level. This adaptation is manifested in the actions and attitudes of fire and rescue police officers at a very high level, and in their awareness at a high level.

Common coping mechanisms for soldiers experiencing psychological distress include: sharing their feelings and thoughts with colleagues; calling family members; and listening to music or watching movies after returning from duty.

Both objective and subjective factors have the potential to predict/promote adaptation to address critical situations; however, this predictive/promoting ability is not high.

The research also indicated that there was a serious significant difference in adapting to dealing with emergencies of fire and rescue police based on training level, rank, seniority and working area.

Common psychological manifestations of fire and rescue police during and after resolving emergencies are normal. Common responses to soldiers' psychological manifestations are: sharing their feelings, thoughts and anxieties with colleagues; calling relatives in the family; listening to music, watching movies after returning to the mission.

3.2. Conclusion

Adapting to dealing with emergency situations of fire and rescue police is a positive and proactive process to change perceptions, attitudes and actions of soldiers in order to make quick, timely and appropriate decisions in accordance with the requirements of situations of fire, explosion and accidents in order to prevent and control serious, abnormal and unexpected events that may lead to serious consequences to individuals and society while ensuring their psychological and mental stability after the events.

The research results have demonstrated the correctness of the thesis's research hypothesis, which adapts to dealing with emergency situations of fire and rescue police at high level. In particular, the adaptation is expressed through the actions and attitudes of the fire and rescue police at a very high level and high level of awareness.

Common responses to soldiers' psychological manifestations are: sharing their feelings, thoughts and anxieties with colleagues; calling relatives in the family; listening to music, watching movies after returning to the mission.
