- Parents are aware of the need for sexual and reproductive health education for their children; however, they are still not fully aware of their role in this educational activity. Parents' understanding of the psychophysiological changes in adolescence is fairly good but still incomplete. Approximately one-quarter of parents do not discuss sexual and reproductive health with their children. Even among those who do, the level and content of these discussions remain low, and the skills parents use during these discussions are also very limited.
- Parents have not received sufficient support from the community. Parents have a high need for support to improve their knowledge and skills in educating their children about reproductive health.
- The 8-session intervention program for parents in the experimental group demonstrated effectiveness in improving parents' capacity to educate their children about reproductive health. While the intervention group showed significant changes in knowledge, confidence, skills, and frequency of discussions with their children on this topic, the control group showed no significant changes.
12. Practical applications:
Intervention procedures can be applied in practice to enhance parents' capacity in providing reproductive health education to their adolescent children.
