11. Summary of new results of the thesis:
- Parents are aware of the need to educate their children about reproductive health; however, they are not yet fully aware of their role in this educational activity. Parents' awareness of the psychological and physiological changes of adolescents is quite good but still inadequate. About 1/4 of parents do not discuss reproductive health with their children. For parents who do discuss, the level and content of discussion are still low, and the skills parents use in the discussion process are also very limited.
- Parents have not received support from the community. Parents have a high need for support to improve their knowledge and skills in educating their children about reproductive health.
- The 8-session intervention program for parents in the experimental group demonstrated its effectiveness in improving parents' capacity to educate their children about reproductive health. While the intervention group had significant changes in knowledge, confidence, skills and frequency of discussing this topic with their children, the comparison group had no significant changes.
12. Practical application:
The intervention process can be applied in practice to improve parents' capacity in reproductive health education for their adolescents.
13. Further research directions:
The impact of parents' reproductive health education activities on children's sexual behavior.
