This study clarifies some theories regarding the portrayal of ethnic minority women in the press; criteria for evaluating media quality; and requirements for communicating the image of ethnic minority women in the press. The author surveys two online newspapers, Dan Toc va Phat Trien (baodantoc.vn) and Tien Phong (tienphong.vn); and two print newspapers, Phu Nu Viet Nam – Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions Special Issue and Tin Tuc (Vietnam News Agency) – Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions Special Issue, in their reporting, reflection, and promotion of the image of ethnic minority women. Through this, the author assesses the advantages and limitations in content, form, and public impact, and recommends several solutions to improve the quality of information in Vietnamese journalism concerning ethnic minority women, aiming to attract greater social attention to this group.

The research findings provide a basis for reporters, media professionals, gender researchers, and journalists to understand and assess the attitudes and perspectives of the media public towards the image of women from ethnic minorities.
