Prof. DSc. PhD. Kristian BankovHe is a professor of semiotics, former Secretary-General of the International Semiotics Association (2014-2024); and former Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs and Public Relations, New Bulgarian University.
He is currently the Director of the Center for Southeast European Semiotics Research and the Director of the Sociosemiotic Lab, New Bulgarian University, Bulgaria.
Bankov has won numerous awards for his postdoctoral research; he is the founder and editorial director of the International Journal of Digital Age in Semiotics and Communication, indexed in CEEOL and Google Scholar; and he is a member of the scientific committee of the International Semiotics Institute, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania.
He has edited and published numerous research works on digital transformation in education, the digital age in semiotics and communication, and interdisciplinary research directions in the digital age.
