Strengthening cooperation in research, training, and academic development between the two universities of Social Sciences and Humanities.

This was the consensus reached at the 2025 Annual Meeting between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Ho Chi Minh City, with the theme "The Role of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Era of National Development," held this morning, August 15, 2025.
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on August 8, 2022, at the annual conference between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the two universities have engaged in numerous exchange and cooperation activities in training, scientific research, and community service during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Professor Lai Quoc Khanh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, summarized the results of cooperation between the two universities in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Accordingly, the two universities have collaborated on a number of activities related to training, scientific research, and quality assurance. The exchange of lecturers and students between the two universities in the North and South has also been strengthened. Several lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, have participated in teaching some courses to students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; and have participated in independent review and doctoral dissertation evaluation committees. The two universities have also jointly organized many national and international scientific conferences, shared experiences, and cooperated in writing scientific papers and publishing internationally.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two universities agreed on a common goal: to cooperate and develop together to affirm the identity and leading role of the two Universities of Social Sciences and Humanities in training, research, and academic development. Accordingly, the two universities will continue to expand exchange and cooperation in publishing textbooks, promote joint scientific publications, especially international publications; and promote scientific research for students. In addition, they will continue to share internal databases between the two universities, learn from each other, and exchange experiences on the organization and management of human resources. In the context of the new development of higher education, both sides need to promote the exchange and sharing of experiences on building autonomous university models in the field of social sciences and humanities, and developing training programs according to economic and technical standards...
The exchange conference is an annual event between the two Universities of Social Sciences and Humanities at opposite ends of the country, contributing to strengthening the sincere and meaningful cooperative relationship in the spirit of One-USSH that has been firmly established over many years.
