Promoting cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Renmin University of China.

This is the content of the meeting between representatives of the two universities held on July 19, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to review the results of their cooperation over the past period and to discuss the future direction of their partnership.
During the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) introduced the university's training areas, scientific research, academic conference activities, and international cooperation programs. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh (Head of the Linguistics Department) shared more about Vietnamese language and culture training programs for Chinese students, along with many ongoing cooperation activities with Chinese partners.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) discussed several areas of cooperation with Professor Zheng Xinye (Vice Rector of Renmin University of China).
On behalf of the Renmin University of China delegation, Professor Zheng Xinye (Vice President) expressed strong agreement with the cooperation direction of mutual interest. He introduced several specialized training programs currently being led by Renmin University of China under the direction of the Chinese government and expressed his desire to attract international students, especially Vietnamese students. The professor also proposed promoting cooperation in the fields of cultural, historical, political, and economic research between the two countries, based on similarities in institutions and traditions. In addition, short-term exchange programs with financial support, as well as plans to publish annual reports on Vietnam-China cooperation, were areas of particular interest to Renmin University of China.
Furthermore, Renmin University of China also expressed its desire to cooperate in in-depth research on Marxism and socialism, connecting with the Philosophy and Political Science departments at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a comprehensive cooperation framework between the two universities. Accordingly, both sides agreed to strengthen academic research cooperation, connect disciplines between faculties; implement short-term student exchange programs; and promote joint activities in scientific research, starting in 2025.
The meeting contributed to deepening the cooperative relationship between the two leading higher education institutions in the two countries, while also opening up many practical opportunities for future connections.
Representatives from both universities signed a framework agreement on cooperation in a number of training and research activities.
Previously, in December 2023, a delegation from Renmin University of China held a working meeting at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and agreed on many areas of cooperation.
With 28 undergraduate programs, 36 master's programs, and 31 doctoral programs, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) receives special attention from universities and research institutes in China. In 2023 alone, nearly 200 Chinese students were studying at the university's undergraduate and postgraduate programs (Faculty of Linguistics, Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language, Literature, History, Sociology, International Studies, etc.). Chinese students studying at USSH are not only assured of high-quality teaching but also receive support with accommodation, healthcare services, and opportunities to experience Vietnamese culture and scenic attractions.
