The joint conference is held annually by the two universities. Prior to this, three annual conferences had been organized to discuss, share experiences, and cooperate on university governance, training, research, international cooperation, quality assurance, communication, and business relations.
During the 2022-2023 academic year, the two universities collaborated on numerous activities in training and research, such as the national scientific conference "Basic Sciences - Role and Development Orientation in Training and Scientific Research," and the university-level scientific conference "Teaching and Learning Marxist-Leninist Philosophy in the Current Context." They also shared experiences on building and developing programs that are difficult to recruit students for, creating integrated and modern training programs, and increasing the graduation rate of students. Between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, they established criteria for credit recognition between the two universities; developed programs for exchanging lecturers, students, trainees, and interns; promoted international scientific publications and student research; and jointly developed a project on "Attracting Foreign Experts and High-Quality Human Resources." According to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the conference is an opportunity for the two universities to position themselves within the rapidly changing landscape of Vietnamese higher education, to thoroughly analyze the shifting trends and changes in social sciences and humanities training in the current and future contexts, with the strong development of technology and educational technology. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan also highly appreciated the results achieved after the two universities collaborated on joint activities.

Associate Professor Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, shared about the "One USSH" spirit, which has been nurtured and built by generations of leaders from both universities and is being continued. Associate Professor Ngo Thi Phuong Lan believes that training, research, and community service are the three main pillars of cooperation between the two universities and will continue to be implemented through specific, quantifiable solutions. The One USSH spirit aims to share development philosophies, management experiences, resources, and especially to jointly fulfill the important responsibilities entrusted by the country to the social sciences and humanities.

At the conference, the two universities presented papers on developing training programs according to economic and technical standards, experiences in digital transformation, and experiences in developing policies to support staff in achieving professor and associate professor titles, etc.
