Main research directions
• Research the history of Vietnamese thought, culture, society, and people; clarify the unique characteristics of Vietnamese culture, society, religion and beliefs, political institutions, and state models.
• To clarify the unique development model and path of Vietnam; the favorable conditions, opportunities, and challenges facing Vietnam on its development path; and thereby propose a philosophy, theory, and model for Vietnam's development in relation to and comparison with other countries. Leading the way in fulfilling the function of Philosophy: "Researching theory, summarizing practice, forecasting development trends, and providing arguments for building national development policies and guidelines in the new era."
• Research the characteristics of contemporary Vietnamese society; the transition from an agricultural society to an industrialized society; changes in social structure, and the emergence of new social groups and forces.
• Researching changes in perceptions, moral values, aesthetics, traditional culture, and the formation of new values, as well as the need to build and guide the development of these new values ​​as a foundation for the thinking and actions of the entire society.
• Research and propose solutions for preserving and promoting the cultural identity and beliefs of ethnic groups living in the Northwest, Central Highlands, and Southwest regions of Vietnam.
Typical topics and projects currently underway
• Religion, Beliefs, and Personal Life: Promoting the Role of Religion and Beliefs in Moral Education, Character Formation, and Lifestyle of Vietnamese People Today, a project of Nafosted, Ministry of Science and Technology, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Hung.
• Human ecology from a Marxist philosophical perspective, National University-level research project. Led by Dr. Pham Thanh Ha.
• The role of ethics in preventing the moral decay of leaders and managers in Vietnam today, National University-level research project. Led by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong.
