Strengthening the leadership personnel of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi

On May 25, 2026, at the ceremony announcing personnel decisions for key leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Bui The Duy, presented the appointment decisions. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan continues to serve as the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam holds the position of Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The appointment and assignment of personnel are carried out in strict accordance with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Law No. 125/2025/QH15 on Higher Education, guiding documents of the Ministry of Education and Training, and current regulations of the Party and State on personnel work.

The personnel appointed, transferred, and assigned are all cadres with political qualities, professional competence, prestige, and management experience; they are trusted by key officials and the leadership team of the unit, and are considered and decided upon by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of VNU in accordance with regulations.

The Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Bui The Duy, presented the appointment decision to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, appointing him as the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Bui The Duy, presented the appointment decision to Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam, appointing him as Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Thus, after the restructuring of the personnel system, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities consist of 04 teachers, including:

- Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector;

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice Rector;

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Rector;

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hong Son - Member of the Party Committee, Vice Rector.

These are individuals who have grown and matured within the training and research environment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, have a long-standing commitment, have held many important management positions, and have made significant contributions to the development of the university.

According toDecision No. 2886/QD-XHNV dated June 1, 2026, on the assignment of duties to the Rector and Vice-Rectors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.The teachers will be responsible for the following tasks:

Principal Hoang Anh Tuan:
To lead, direct, and comprehensively manage all aspects of the School's activities and work according to the functions, tasks, and powers assigned by VNU; to directly supervise important tasks, sign contracts and cooperation agreements.
a. Areas of work: School development strategy; Organization - Administration; Planning - Finance.
b. Responsible for the following units: Organization and Administration Department; Planning and Finance Department; Foreign Language and Training Cooperation Center; History and Culture Museum.

Vice Principal Bui Thanh Nam:He is the Acting Vice Principal.
a. Areas of responsibility: University administration; Facilities; University accreditation and ranking; Assisting the Rector in certain financial matters and other tasks as assigned by the Rector.
b. Responsible for the following units: Human Resources Management Department; King Sejong Center Hanoi 1.

Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong:
a. Areas of work: Scientific research; External relations; Journals; Communications and other tasks as assigned by the Rector.
b. Responsible for the following units: Department of Science and Foreign Affairs; Institute of Policy, Innovation and Interdisciplinary Science.

Vice Principal Dang Hong Son:
a. Areas of responsibility: Student recruitment, training, student affairs; Quality assurance; Inspection, legal affairs, and other tasks as assigned by the Rector.
b. Responsible for the following units: Training and Student Affairs Department; Quality Assurance Department.
