This was the content discussed at the scientific conference "Theoretical and practical basis for researching, applying, and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought in the development of science and technology and innovation during the Doi Moi (Renovation period from 1986 to the present, orientation to 2030 and vision to 2045)" held this morning, April 11, 2024.
 
Within the framework of research project KX.02.29/21-25 under the National Special Science and Technology Program 2021-2025 “Research, application and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's thought in the construction and defense of the country during the đổi mới (renovation) period (from 1986 to the present, orientation to 2030 and vision to 2045)”, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi organized a scientific conference attracting the participation of many reputable scientists.
With the theme "Theoretical and practical foundations for researching, applying, and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought in the development of science and technology and innovation during the Doi Moi (Renovation) period (from 1986 to the present, orientation to 2030 and vision to 2045)", the conference attracted the participation of scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and many major universities nationwide, such as: Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Regional Political Academy IV, Security Academy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi University of Education, Hanoi University of Education 2, University of Mining and Geology, University of Transport Technology, Thai Nguyen University of Education…
The National Special Science and Technology Program 2021-2025 is a particularly important and necessary task aimed at continuing to research, apply, and creatively develop Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the new context, thoroughly implementing and concretizing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress and serving the development of the documents for the 14th National Congress of the Party.

In his opening remarks at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the project leader, stated that the workshop "Theoretical and practical basis for researching, applying, and creatively developing Ho Chi Minh's thought in the development of science and technology and innovation during the Doi Moi period (from 1986 to the present, with orientations to 2030 and vision to 2045)" had commissioned 40 reports, closely adhering to and broadly covering the research content of the project.
The workshop focused on discussing key topics such as: Research on the conceptual framework, theoretical principles, and theories of Marxism-Leninism; some modern theories; the development of the Vietnamese Communist Party's understanding of science and technology development and innovation; and the research, application, and creative development of Ho Chi Minh's thought related to science and technology development and innovation in the pre-Doi Moi (Renovation) period.
The papers also examine the practical development of science and technology and innovation in Vietnam from the beginning of the 20th century to 1986, and in some countries in the region and around the world today, along with suggestions for Vietnam.
The research results presented at the Conference serve as a basis for establishing the theory and practice of continuing to research, apply, and creatively develop Ho Chi Minh's thought on science and technology in the development of science and technology, innovation, the period of reform from 1986 to the present, with orientations towards 2030 and a vision towards 2045.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Lam Van Doan - Vice Chairman of the Social Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
From the perspective of a sociology expert, Dr. Lam Van Doan - Vice Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the 15th National Assembly - highly appreciated the significance of the reports in this topic. These reports provide theoretical and practical foundations that make a practical contribution to the drafting process of Party and State documents.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Tuyet – Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, representing the Program Office, attended the Workshop.
Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Tuyet - Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, representing the Program Office at the Workshop - highly appreciated the participation of young scientists, contributing to clarifying the values ​​in Ho Chi Minh's thought in the development of science and technology and innovation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu - Head of the Department of Political Science, co-chaired the workshop.
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Ngoc Lieu - Former Deputy Head of the Philosophy Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, presented a report on "The Marxist-Leninist Theory on the Characteristics, Position, and Role of Creativity, Science, and Technology in Building Socialism".
Dr. Tran Thi Phuc An (Hanoi University of Mining and Geology) presented a report on "The development of the Vietnamese Communist Party's understanding of science and technology development and innovation before the Doi Moi (Renovation) period".
Dr. Lai Thi Thanh Binh (Hanoi University of Theatre and Film) presented a report on "Ho Chi Minh's concepts related to the development of science and technology and innovation in comparison with current understandings of science and technology development and innovation in Vietnam".
Dr. Le Quang Hoa (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) presented a report titled "Theory, Policy and Practice of Science and Technology Development and Innovation in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Singapore Today, and Suggestions for Vietnam".
Dr. Duong Tat Thanh (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) presented a paper entitled "Theory, Policy and Practice of Science and Technology Development and Innovation in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand Today and Suggestions for Vietnam".
Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Van presented a paper on the topic "Ho Chi Minh's views on measures for innovation, creativity, and development of science, technology, and engineering."
Concluding the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - the project leader - emphasized that the team of experienced and young scientists involved in the project had actively and meticulously conducted research with rapid and effective progress. Many materials from the workshop have proven valuable in establishing the fundamental theoretical and practical basis of the project, and it is hoped that these contributions will be practical in the development of the Party's 14th National Congress documents.
In 2024, within the framework of research project KX.02.29/21-25, the project team will organize 3 workshops and 15 seminars, attracting the participation of scientists, managers, organizations, and businesses at the central and local levels. These workshops and seminars will discuss and agree on the theoretical framework of the project; study the practical application of the theoretical framework in localities, organizations, and businesses; and propose breakthrough solutions for the project, etc.
 
 
 
 
The workshop was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, and also online, with the participation of many scientists from various academies and universities.
