Born into a family with a revolutionary and academic tradition, Associate Professor, Doctor, and Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy has inherited and continued the fine traditions of her family. She always strives her best in her studies and work, always serious and enthusiastic in all her tasks. High honors and awards such as the title of Meritorious Teacher and the Third-Class Labor Medal are recognitions from the State and society for her tireless contributions over the past 30 years.
Her contributions are clearly demonstrated in areas such as: building and developing a strong Faculty of Information and Library Science; proposing many pioneering research directions in the field of modern information and library science; and building a system of foundational lectures and textbooks to serve the training of high-quality human resources for the information and library science industry.

As the second generation leader of the Faculty of Information and Library Science, immediately after assuming her duties, Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy, together with the Faculty's staff, was determined to take the Faculty to a new level of qualitative development, transforming it from a small department under the University into an independent training Faculty with three subordinate departments. In management, she has always been serious and diligent in her work. She pays special attention to developing the teaching staff in both quality and quantity, making the Faculty of Information and Library Science a training institution with the largest, most dedicated, and highly qualified teaching staff in the country. 90% of the staff hold postgraduate degrees.
Along with expanding domestic and international cooperation, the Faculty has become a reputable training, research, and scientific consulting institution in the field of Information and Library Science. She directly supervised research to develop and innovate training programs for all levels, aiming for modernity and up-to-date content. Many new courses in the training programs have been developed based on her research findings. On this foundation, the Faculty's graduates are of high quality. Graduates have been and are effectively meeting societal and professional needs. Courses developed by her research have been adopted and incorporated into the training programs of many educational institutions nationwide… This is a valuable achievement that Associate Professor, Doctor, and Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy has left for future generations of lecturers and students.

In scientific research, Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy has always been a pioneer in introducing new research directions for the field, most notably in the following areas:Research directions include: History of books and libraries; information and library services; state management of information and library activities; information science; information for leadership; information resource development; information processing using traditional and modern methods; scientific classification and document classification…The results of these studies have made a significant contribution to the development of Vietnam's information and library sector. Associate Professor, Doctor, and Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy's in-depth research ideas have significantly contributed to perfecting the theory and development orientation of the information and library profession, including the training of human resources for the sector under the strong impact of information and communication technology and the evolving needs of society. Following this research direction, Associate Professor Tran Thi Quy has delved into: the role of books/documents, the role of information and library activities in the development of the Vietnamese revolution through different historical periods; the information and library profession after 30 years of reform; research on standards for modern information and library agencies; and research on current information and library human resources in light of the demands of professional practice....From there, specific solutions can be developed to improve the quality of training to meet social needs. Theoretically, the research results have clarified the role and importance of information and library activities in the development of culture, ideology, science and technology, and education and training activities of the Party and State, serving the cause of reform in Vietnam today. Practically, the results of this research direction have helped to assess the current state of training program content and organization, identify causes, and propose solutions to improve the quality of human resource training in the information and library sector.
Associate Professor, Doctor of Science, Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy is the author of fundamental textbooks and reference materials in the field, such as: Information Processing; Scientific Classification and Document Classification; Automation of Information and Library Operations; History of Books; Information Resource Development... These materials have been used in many training institutions in the Information and Library Science field nationwide. In addition, she is also the author of high-quality articles in specialized journals, reports at domestic and international conferences, and scientific research projects at various levels.
The greatest achievement of Associate Professor, Doctor, and Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Quy's scientific research and training career is her contribution to training and building a high-quality workforce for the information and library sector nationwide. Many of her undergraduates, master's and doctoral students are holding important positions in agencies from the central to local levels. With the knowledge and passion for the profession she imparted, they are effectively utilizing their abilities in various roles. She is always a role model, a shining example of seriousness in work and study, and of the compassionate heart of an educator. She is the image of a diligent and dedicated teacher, contributing to nurturing future generations through teaching and scientific research.
