On December 17th, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, will organize a cultural and artistic event, providing opportunities for exchange, learning, and connection between Vietnamese and international students - Sparkling New Year.
Sparkling New Year, meaning "A Brilliant New Year," is a wish from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language to all international students from around the world for a truly vibrant new year. We wish you a warm and joyful Tet holiday, filled with family gatherings, and a wonderful experience of Vietnamese Tet culture at the Faculty of Humanities, Hanoi. This is also an opportunity to introduce the unique cultural characteristics of Tet, promoting and showcasing Vietnamese culture to international friends.
The event will include many exciting activities:
1. Activities include wishing Happy New Year and learning about the culture of Vietnam's ethnic groups.
- Time: From 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on December 17, 2022.
- Location: Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hoa Lac, Thach That, Hanoi.
- Content:
+ Wishing the Board of Directors of Hanoi National University a Happy New Year.
+ Visit the headquarters of Hanoi National University at the Hoa Lac campus.
+ Visit the Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Cultures.
2. Camp: “Spring of Connection – Tet Across the World”
- Date: December 17, 2022
- Location: Headquarters of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Television, B7bis, 75 Tran Dai Nghia Street, Bach Khoa University, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
- Content:
+ For the Vietnamese student booths: At each booth, participating units will decorate and prepare food to promote Vietnamese culture.
+ For the international student booths: At each booth, participating units will decorate and prepare food according to the cultural characteristics of their country in order to promote their national culture.
3. Activities to learn about Vietnamese traditional culture
- Time: From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on December 17, 2022.
- Location: Headquarters of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Television, B7bis, 75 Tran Dai Nghia Street, Bach Khoa University, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
- Content:
+ Calligraphy writing activity.
+ Fortune-telling activities using the Tale of Kieu.
+ Bamboo pole dancing activity.
+ A game to learn about Vietnamese traditional culture.
4. Fashion Show Activity: “Fashion – Traditional Food”
- Time: From 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on December 17, 2022.
- Location: Headquarters of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Television, B7bis, 75 Tran Dai Nghia Street, Bach Khoa University, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
- Content: Designing costumes that recreate traditional New Year's cuisine from around the world using recycled materials.
5. Gala “SPARKLING NEW YEAR”
- Time: From 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on December 17, 2022.
