The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has added 4 training programs that have achieved accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The training programs in Philosophy, Linguistics, Literature, and Oriental Studies have been recognized by the Council for Educational Quality Accreditation as meeting educational quality standards following a meeting to review the results of the educational quality assessment held on May 27, 2023.
The Council reviewed the self-assessment reports of the four training programs, and the reports of the external evaluation team for the programs. They also asked numerous questions to representatives of the university leadership as well as the leaders of the units with accredited programs. Following this, a secret ballot was held to determine whether the four programs in Literature, Linguistics, Philosophy, and Oriental Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, met the educational quality standards.
 
In addition to the Council members who met in person, there were also members participating online from multiple locations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, reported on the results of the self-assessment of 4 programs and answered questions from the Council.
Dr. Pham Hoang Giang - Deputy Head of the Philosophy Department, provided further clarification on some of the questions raised by the Council.

Established in 1956, Faculty of LiteratureLiterature is one of the oldest faculties in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Students majoring in Literature not only receive foundational knowledge in literary theory, culture, and language, but also acquire extensive knowledge of Vietnamese literature and famous literatures around the world… enabling them to work in various positions such as researchers, lecturers, reporters, editors, specialists at media agencies, or staff at cultural and ideological agencies, socio-political organizations, and diplomatic missions…
Department of Linguistics Established on the basis of the Linguistics Department of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University (1956-1996), the Faculty was the first unit in Vietnam to train Linguistics as a separate scientific discipline. It not only trains high-quality human resources in linguistics, Vietnamese linguistics, the Vietnamese language and culture, and the languages ​​of ethnic groups in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, but over the years, the Faculty has focused on interdisciplinary training to expand its scope to include computational linguistics, psycholinguistics, and therapeutic linguistics. This enables graduates to work in many fields, from journalism, media, and publishing to rehabilitation.
Department of PhilosophyEstablished in September 1976, it is a leading and prestigious philosophy training institution in the country. Philosophy students receive knowledge ranging from fundamental and basic to advanced levels in the field of philosophy, thereby mastering the stances and viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, applying them to solve practical problems, and integrating with international philosophy.
In spite ofDepartment of Oriental Studies Established in 1995, the Oriental Studies program has actually been offered within the History department since 1993. Oriental Studies is an attractive field for young people, offering a diverse and rich body of knowledge about the colorful and dynamic languages ​​and cultures of the East. Following a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training approach, Oriental Studies students are equipped with comprehensive knowledge including history, culture, literature, geography, economics, politics, and diplomacy. They also possess practical skills in international relations and social communication, and can use a specialized foreign language (English, Korean, Chinese, Thai, etc.) in communication and professional work.
The Council unanimously approved the reports and recognized that the four programs in Literature, Philosophy, Linguistics, and Oriental Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, have met the accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
