Based on the actual organization of foreign language training at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) and considering the proposal of the University of Foreign Languages, VNU-Hanoi in Official Letter No. 1004/ĐHNN-ĐT dated June 5, 2023, regarding the adjustment of foreign language teaching activities at VNU-Hanoi, VNU-Hanoi adjusts some contents on the organization of foreign language training and the determination of foreign language output standards in undergraduate training programs as follows:
1.The organization of foreign language course training and the determination of foreign language proficiency standards for students in cohorts from QH-2021 and earlier: apply Guidance No.
297/HD-ĐHQGHNFebruary 3, 2017, from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (hereinafter referred to as Guidance 297).
2.Proof of foreign language proficiency for students from the QH-2021 cohort and earlier is determined by one of the following methods:
- Certificates/Certifications of foreign language proficiency are specified in Section 1 of Official Letter No.
4116/VNU-DTDecember 14, 2021, from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
- Certificates/Confirmations of foreign language proficiency issued by the University of Foreign Languages, VNU Hanoi, in accordance with the regulations in Section 4.1 of Guideline 297, for students who have completed the foreign language courses specified in Section 2.2.1 of Guideline 297.
3.The certificates used in determining foreign language proficiency standards are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training (from the date of issuance); VNU does not accept online exam certificates.
4The changes to the above content will take effect from the date of signing this Official Letter.
