The 2026 International Economic Olympiad (IEO) is a platform that brings together outstanding students from many countries and territories around the world. This is not only an opportunity for participants to showcase their abilities, thinking skills, and knowledge in economics, finance, and business, but also a chance to network, learn, and present the image of Vietnamese youth to the international community. 2026 marks the first time Vietnam has directly participated in this international intellectual competition.
The Vietnamese national team excellently won two bronze medals, awarded to Nguyen Thanh Truc and Hoang Duc Minh, in their first direct participation in the IEO competition.

Earlier, at a meeting on July 18th, the Vietnamese Consul General in Guangzhou, Nguyen Viet Dung, emphasized that the competition is not only an opportunity for team members to showcase their capabilities, thinking skills, and in-depth knowledge of economics, finance, and business, but also a valuable chance to exchange ideas, learn, and promote the image of Vietnamese youth to the world.

IEO 2026 also marked a special milestone as it was the first time the Vietnamese team participated in the competition in person in Shenzhen, China. At the competition, contestants experienced a high-intensity international competition environment alongside participants from many countries around the world. Beyond testing economic knowledge, the competition required contestants to flexibly apply various skills such as analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, presentation, and the use of English throughout the entire process.
Once again, congratulations to the Vietnamese team and to Nguyen Thanh Truc, a student from the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. Thank you for your utmost efforts in representing Vietnam at IEO 2026. Your success once again affirms the intelligence and capabilities of students from the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, not only domestically but also internationally, and is a testament to the school's philosophy of comprehensive education and talent development. We wish you continued passion, courage, and even more success in the future!
