Tens of thousands of candidates attend the 2022 University and College Admissions Consulting Day

Although the weather in Hanoi is quite hot and sultry, from early morning on July 24, 2022, tens of thousands of candidates and parents were present at the 2022 University and College Admissions Consulting Day organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper with the support of VinGroup Corporation.
This is an activity within the framework of the 2022 admissions and career counseling program jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Department of Higher Education - Ministry of Education and Training, General Department of Vocational Education - Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Deputy Head of Training Department Nguyen Anh Tuan and Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities Hoang Anh Tuan participated in answering questions for candidates about issues related to registration, adjusting admission wishes and giving candidates notes when registering for admission to achieve the best results.
VNU attended the festival with 13 booths of member and affiliated training units: University of Technology, University of Education, University of Natural Sciences, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam-Japan University, International School and Faculty of Law.
Speaking at the event, Director of the Department of Higher Education Nguyen Thu Thuy said that according to the regulations, candidates use the assigned accounts to register, adjust, and add admission wishes an unlimited number of times from now until 5:00 p.m. on August 20. Ms. Thuy advised candidates not to register immediately but to research carefully to avoid errors and confusion, but should not wait too close to the time the system closes. The Director of the Department of Higher Education especially noted that candidates must register all their admission wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system, in order of priority. After the virtual filtering system, candidates will only be admitted to the highest wish among the wishes that are eligible for admission.
8 new training programs to catch up with world trends
Deputy Head of Training Department Nguyen Anh Tuan informed candidates about some new points in VNU's enrollment. Accordingly, VNU enrolls 13,150 students for 143 majors/training programs of 12 university-level training units. Of which, there are 08 new majors to meet the human resource needs of the 4.0 labor market and the national and world digital transformation such as: Artificial Intelligence (University of Technology); Construction Engineering, Smart and Sustainable Agriculture (Vietnam-Japan University); Entertainment and Event Management, Smart and Sustainable Urban Management (Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences). In particular, for the first time, VNU pilots a bachelor's and master's training model at the International School with 3 training programs: Applied Information Technology, Financial Technology and Digital Business, Industrial Systems Engineering and Logistics.

Deputy Head of Training Department Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that these are all training programs built on the basis of training programs of prestigious universities in the world, providing learners with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the fields of technology, economics and management. In particular, VNU students are fully equipped with academic knowledge and professional skills through practice sessions, reality, and experience at domestic and foreign enterprises. In addition, learners are equipped with foreign language proficiency equivalent to levels 3 and 4 of the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework for Vietnam, so after graduation, students are able to use foreign languages ​​fluently, meeting job requirements well.

The score distribution does not fluctuate too much.
Analyzing the score distribution by exam groups, the Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hoang Anh Tuan, said that the high school graduation exam scores of subjects this year did not have too many fluctuations. The majors with admission scores equal to the English score distribution will have a lower standard score compared to last year. The absolute score in Foreign Language decreased by more than 4,000. In Biology, there were 5 candidates who scored 10 instead of nearly 600. In Math and Geography, the number of 10 scores also decreased.

“The score distribution is basically good and favorable for students to apply for all groups. Some subjects have improved compared to last year, such as English or History. Group A or Group C, I think will be stable. Group D groups with foreign languages ​​will be basically good,” said Principal Hoang Anh Tuan.
At the festival, universities and colleges in the capital brought to the festival models and experiential teaching aids so that candidates could have the most comprehensive view of their future majors. At the booth of the International School, VNU, candidates could experience and explore modern 3D printing technology and the operating process of 3D printers. In addition, candidates attending the festival received attractive gifts and admission guides from training units and were introduced to the facilities, teaching staff, and learning environment, helping candidates have a more detailed view of the school and major they chose.
