This is an opportunity for students majoring in Tourism and Travel Service Management, Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to practice the knowledge they have accumulated during their first two years of university in the field.
From June 10th to June 18th, the 67th cohort of the Tourism and Travel Service Management program, Faculty of Tourism Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, completed their comprehensive internship program in the Southwestern and Southeastern provinces of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Beginning their journey, the group visited the Southwestern region of Vietnam, encompassing the three provinces of Tien Giang, Can Tho, and An Giang. The first impression for the members was the incredibly beautiful natural landscape, still retaining many of the region's unique and pristine features, such as endless rice paddies, lush fruit orchards, and verdant forests. In addition, the group experienced the distinctive culture and lifestyle of the people of the Southwestern region, with the sweet and soulful art of "Don Ca Tai Tu" (traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music); and visited and experienced life on the waterways at the Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho. The members of the internship group also enjoyed many local specialties, such as shrimp and fish dishes from the riverine region, marinated and prepared with meticulous care and sophistication.

Because the Southwestern region of Vietnam is home to many ethnic groups such as the Kinh, Khmer, Hoa, Cham, etc., there is a strong, diverse, yet harmonious cultural exchange. This is clearly demonstrated through religious and spiritual structures: the Lady of the Land Temple, the Thoai Ngoc Hau Mausoleum, the Cham mosques, etc. These landmarks have left a deep impression on students regarding the nature, culture, and people of the region.

Next, the internship group visited two of Cambodia's most famous tourist cities, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, for 4 days and 3 nights, learning more about the history and culture of this beautiful country.
The student group visited sites such as the Nagaworld Casino (in Phnom Penh) and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which houses evidence of the Khmer Rouge regime's crimes. The stories shared by the tour guide sent shivers down the spines of many visitors, who couldn't hide their emotion at the brutal and savage torture methods used in the S-21 prison. The artifacts, images, and documents at the museum provide vivid and visual evidence of what was once known as "hell on earth" during the rule of the Pol Pot – Ieng Sary criminal group.

Cambodia is also home to famous architectural landmarks with unique characteristics, such as the Royal Palace complex, the Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda, the ancient Kampong Kdei bridge, and many valuable artifacts dating back thousands of years. In particular, Siem Reap was one of the most important destinations for the group. It is home to one of the most beautiful, magnificent, and tourist-attracting cultural heritage sites in the world – the Angkor complex. In Siem Reap, the internship group spent a day visiting and learning about the massive and beautiful architectural and artistic structures such as Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm, gaining a wealth of valuable knowledge and experiences.

It was also an opportunity for the members to learn more about the culture of their neighboring country and to strengthen the spirit of solidarity between the two nations.
During the trip, the internship group explored and learned in Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City, including visiting, interacting with, and studying at Van Lang University, and touring the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the City Post Office.
