Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed his pleasure in welcoming international delegations to visit and sign cooperation agreements with the University, especially in the joyful atmosphere leading up to the 80th anniversary of the University's tradition and the 30th anniversary of its establishment. Over eight decades of development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always played a pioneering role in training and research in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, while continuously expanding international cooperation and integration.
According to Rector Hoang Anh Tuan, the university currently offers more than 30 undergraduate programs, 29 master's programs, and 32 doctoral programs, as well as many other short-term and long-term programs. Building on the sustainable cooperation between the two universities over the past two decades, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities expects this signing ceremony to open up new avenues for cooperation in training and research, not only in Southeast Asian studies, Thai studies, and Oriental studies, and Vietnamese language training, but also expanding to other fields such as history, cultural studies, and political science.
The delegation from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University expressed their deep impression of the dynamic and modern development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Associate Professor Kanakorn Sawangcharoen, President of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, expressed his emotion at returning to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities since his first visit when he was a young lecturer. President Kanakorn Sawangcharoen stated that he has always been deeply impressed by the friendliness and dynamic, modern development of the University, and emphasized that the cooperative relationship between the two universities over the past two decades has transcended the usual academic framework, becoming a symbol of friendship, trust, and mutual respect. This renewal of the memorandum of understanding aims not only to maintain the tradition of good cooperation but also to elevate the relationship between the two sides to a more substantive and profound level.
Associate Professor Dr. Kanakorn stated that Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, established during the reign of King Rama V, has a 135-year history of development and currently offers 125 programs at various levels, sharing many similarities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. With this renewed MOU, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University hopes to further strengthen cooperation in the following areas:
- Exchange of faculty and students through credit-recognition training programs; short courses, and Vietnamese language training.
- Implement joint research projects on the history and culture of both countries, as well as common regional and global issues.
- Organize scientific seminars, academic exchange programs, and scholar exchanges to share research results and scientific knowledge.
At the conclusion of the signing ceremony, the leaders of both universities affirmed their determination to further develop the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, making it deeper, more substantive, and sustainable, and to continue fostering friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Thailand.
BSRU currently has over 20,000 students enrolled, a highly qualified faculty, and an extensive network of partnerships with numerous universities in the region and around the world. In the future, BSRU aims to become a leading academic center within the Rajabhat University system, playing an active role in community development and promoting cultural and academic exchange between Thailand and neighboring countries.
