
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong received and worked with Professor Cao Lan Anh - Director of the Institute for International Exchange, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Guilin University of Science and Technology and Electronics, China.
Attending the meeting were representatives from the Department of Cooperation and Development, the Department of Scientific Research Management, and the Department of Chinese Studies ( thuộc the Faculty of Oriental Studies) of the University.
The discussion focused on the two sides coordinating the planning of specific cooperation activities for 2024, including:
- Exchange of students and faculty between the two universities;
- Organize short-term training courses by VNU-USSH for students of Guilin University of Science and Technology, China;
- Coordinate the organization of international scientific conferences;
- Implement projects to award scholarships and provide academic support to students, trainees, and faculty members to improve their skills.
Professor Cao Lan Anh highly appreciated the effective cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Guilin University of Science and Technology and Electronics since 2011 and expressed her desire to continue expanding cooperation in training and research in fields such as political science, sociology, anthropology, public administration, etc., where both sides have strengths. She also emphasized the need to promote student and faculty exchange programs between the two universities.
On behalf of the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong expressed his pleasure in welcoming Professor Cao Lan Anh to visit and work directly with the University after a period of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He also affirmed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always desires to expand cooperation with Guilin University of Science and Technology and Electronics, China, in training and scientific research activities, especially student and faculty exchange programs between the two universities.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to proceed with signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities, which will serve as the basis for implementing cooperative activities in the future.
