Iranian Embassy creates strong academic bridge with VNU-USSH, deepening Vietnam-Iran cooperation

This is the opinion shared by Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam during his visit and work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) on March 21, 2024.
On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Party Committee Secretary, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector, along with representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development and the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
On the side of the Iranian Embassy, ​​there was the participation of Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam and Mr. Mohsen Rezaeipour - Commercial Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vietnam.
Educational cooperation deepens Vietnam - Iran relations
At the reception, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, expressed his sincere thanks to the Iranian Embassy for accompanying the university in many cooperative activities, promoting academic exchanges between Vietnam and Iran. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities always attaches importance to and expands relationships with international partners and pays special attention to visiting professors coming and working at VNU-USSH. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan hopes to soon welcome Iranian professors to come and teach and research at VNU-USSH in the near future.
Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari - Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to become a visiting professor at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari shared: The Iranian Embassy always considers the University of Social Sciences and Humanities an important partner in organizing cultural exchange programs between the two countries. Through the exchange, the Ambassador expressed his wish that the school would continue to reopen courses on Persian Language and Culture, spreading the good values ​​of the beautiful country of Iran to young Vietnamese people. In the coming school year, Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari hopes that the two sides will coordinate to organize many seminars and publish joint research works, not only limited to the fields of social sciences but also on fields that are "hot" in the world today.
It is known that the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vietnam and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a cooperation agreement on education, training and development of Iranian studies in Vietnam in 2011. Accordingly, the two sides have successfully organized 03 seminars on Vietnam-Iran Relations (2011), the Great Poet Sa'di seminar (2015) and most recently the seminarThe Influence of Persian Civilization on the World(2023). Within the framework of cooperation between the two sides, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has successfully organized many Persian language training courses with the direct participation of Iranian professors and lecturers from the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

In the jubilant atmosphere of the International Day of Happiness, the Embassy of Iran has chosen the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as the venue to organize the program "Welcoming the New Year Nowruz and opening the Exhibition of Iranian Miniature Paintings by Master Mahmoud Farschian". The event attracted the attention of many lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to share and celebrate with friends from Iran. The smiles and the quiet conversations made a complete and warm Nowruz celebration.
The ceremony was also an opportunity for the Iranian Embassy to express gratitude and present souvenirs to Associate Professor, Dr. Do Thu Ha - lecturer of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for her contributions in spreading Persian culture and language to Vietnam, deepening the close cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Iranian Embassy, ​​as well as the friendship between Vietnam and Iran.

The ceremony became even more exciting when VNU-USSH lecturers and students enjoyed culinary flavors from Iran.
 
The exhibition of miniature paintings by master painter Mahmoud Farschian also received special attention from the students and lecturers attending.
Nowruz, which means “new day” in Persian, marks the beginning of spring and is also the first day of the new year in Iran, where the Gregorian calendar begins with the vernal equinox. Nowruz usually lasts for 13 days. It is considered a time to reflect on the past year and make plans for the future.
In 2009, UNESCO included Nowruz in its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. UNESCO noted that Nowruz promotes the values ​​of peace and solidarity between generations and within families, as well as reconciliation and neighborliness. The United Nations General Assembly in 2010 declared March 21 as International Nowruz Day.
