VNU-USSH and KRI expand cooperation opportunities in Korean studies

This is the content of the working session between Principal Hoang Anh Tuan and Dr. Seung-Ho Kwon - Executive Director of the Korean Research Institute (KRI), University of New South Wales (Australia) on the afternoon of April 8, 2024.
At the meeting, representatives of the two units discussed opportunities to expand cooperation activities in training and research between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and the Institute of Korean Studies, University of New South Wales.
According to Dr. Seung-Ho Kwon, as a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam and the region, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, has many similar views in cooperation with the activities that KRI is interested in.

Also at the meeting, Dr. Seung-Ho Kwon invited Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan and representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU to attend the 2024 International Public Policy Conference with the theme "Strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Korea and ASEAN for Future Common Development". Scheduled to be held in August 2024, the Conference is a strategic forum for policymakers, scholars and senior policy analysts from Korea and ASEAN countries to promote in-depth policy discussions on Korea and ASEAN's efforts to strengthen partnerships in the areas of diplomacy, socio-cultural exchange and economic growth in general. This is also an opportunity for leaders of universities belonging to the Association of Universities for Korean Studies in Southeast Asia (KoSASA) to meet and discuss the strategy for innovation in developing KoSASA, the development trends of modern social sciences and humanities in general and Korean studies in particular.
The conference is expected to be attended by more than 100 delegates, including senior policymakers, researchers and policy analysts from ASEAN, Korea and Australia.

Previously, KRI in particular and Korean government agencies and international organizations have had many cooperative activities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - the pioneer university in training and researching Korean studies in Vietnam, in many fields such as organizing seminars, scholarships, inviting experts to attend roundtables on policies and strategies for educational development.
