The event aims to create a forum connecting scientists, managers and social activists at home and abroad, to discuss and clarify theoretical and practical issues related to culture, ethnicity and religion in the process of development, modernization and international integration of Vietnam. The presentations at the workshop will focus on assessing the current situation, changing trends, impacts of development policies, and identifying opportunities and challenges for these areas.

Speaking at the conference, Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) said that the International Conference on Vietnam Studies began in 1998 with the desire to be a forum to introduce the latest research achievements on Vietnam by domestic and international scholars. To date, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences have jointly organized 6 international conferences on Vietnam Studies.
According to Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, following the success of previous conferences, this conference focuses on major orientations such as: Research and training in Vietnamese studies; diplomacy and international cooperation; economy and society in the context of global change; national governance in the new era; culture, ethnicity, religion in the context of new development; resources, environment and sustainable development; education, training and development of Vietnamese people; science-technology, innovation and knowledge transfer.

Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) spoke at the conference.
In particular, the topic "Culture, ethnicity, religion in the new development context" will delve into many important contents such as discussing cultural characteristics, the process of exchange and cultural transformation in the trend of national development and international integration; issues of cultural activities, cultural behavior, family relationships, marriage in contemporary cultural life; cultural resources and resources in sustainable national development, linking culture with tourism development and regional and local economy; promoting cultural and creative industries in the new context.
