The event aims to create a forum connecting scientists, managers, and social activists from both within and outside Vietnam, to exchange and clarify theoretical and practical issues related to culture, ethnicity, and religion in the process of Vietnam's development, modernization, and international integration. Presentations at the conference will focus on assessing the current situation, trends of change, and impacts of development policies, while identifying opportunities and challenges facing these areas.

Speaking at the conference, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), said that the International Conference on Vietnamese Studies began in 1998 with the aim of being a forum to introduce the latest research achievements on Vietnam by domestic and international scholars. To date, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences have jointly organized six international conferences on Vietnamese Studies.
According to Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, building on the success of previous conferences, this conference focuses on major directions such as: Research and training in Vietnamese studies; diplomacy and international cooperation; economy and society in the context of global change; national governance in the new era; culture, ethnicity, and religion in the context of new development; resources, environment, and sustainable development; education, training, and human development in Vietnam; science and technology, innovation, and knowledge transfer.

Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) spoke at the conference.
Specifically, the theme "Culture, ethnicity, and religion in the context of new development" will delve into many important contents such as discussing cultural characteristics, the process of cultural exchange and transformation in the trend of national development and international integration; issues of cultural activities, cultural behavior, family relations, and marriage in contemporary cultural life; cultural resources in sustainable national development, linking culture with tourism and regional/local economic development; and promoting cultural and creative industries in the new context.
Simultaneously, the study focuses on analyzing ethnic issues, ethnic relations, policies and practices related to ethnic affairs, and the impact of social change on the stability and development of ethnic minority areas. In addition, religious issues are also considered, including changes in current religious life, the trend of religion's engagement with society in the contemporary social context, and the relationship between the State and religion to promote the role of religion in the protection and development of the country.
The main content of the workshop revolved around four thematic subcommittees, including:
Subcommittee 1: Culture, focusing on cultural characteristics, exchange, and transformation in the context of national development.
Subcommittee 2: Ethnic Groups, delving into ethnic relations, policies and the practical implementation of ethnic policies in the context of development and integration.
Subcommittee 3: Religion, discussing religion and its transformations in contemporary life, and the trend of religion's engagement with the world in the context of contemporary society.
Subcommittee 4: Contemporary Issues, exploring modern, multidisciplinary topics such as: Revolutionary Music, performing arts troupes and Jazz in the new era of Vietnam; "Going to the market" in Vietnamese social life: The transformation of socio-economic space in the contemporary context; the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on religious life in Vietnam...
