Student Research Award: “Green Torch” on the learning journey of VNU-USSH students

After more than 5 months of launching and implementing the program, 939 students participated in the Student Scientific Research Award with 552 projects, of which 212 projects won awards at the Faculty/Department level.

On May 18, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU held the award ceremony for the 2022-2023 school-level Student Scientific Research Awards, on the occasion of Vietnam Science and Technology Day.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, was very pleased with the scientific research results of VNU-USSH students in the 2022 - 2023 academic year. Accordingly, the Student Scientific Research Award is an annual award that is welcomed and strongly responded to by students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. In the 2022 - 2023 academic year, the award has achieved many results, affirming the seriousness and passion of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU for scientific research activities. After more than 5 months of launching and implementing the program, 939 students participated with 552 works, of which 212 works won prizes at the Faculty/Department level. In the final round, 20 works won First Prize, 40 works won Second Prize, and 17 works won Third Prize. Many scientific and applied research projects were highly appreciated by the Council.
The new point of this year's award is the identification of key directions of student research activities as well as innovation in the way of scoring topics with clear and transparent criteria, highly appreciating the practical value of the topics. The final round is organized on a school-wide scale, helping to evaluate the correlation of topics in different research fields.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is very pleased with the scientific research results of VNU-USSH students in the 2022 - 2023 academic year.
With the goal of truly spreading student scientific research activities, attracting more and more students to participate in scientific research and innovation activities, in order to strengthen the connection between student scientific research activities and the scientific research orientation of the University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has had policies to encourage and support student scientific research activities, notably the investment policy for 21 key scientific research projects of students in the 2022-2023 school year.
Up to now, all key investment projects have completed the product of Research Results Report and some projects have had articles published or confirmed to be published in specialized journals, contributing to increasing the number of domestic articles of the School. This proves that student scientific research activities are not simply a movement but this is an activity that attracts students and helps to improve students' independence and initiative in the learning process.
 
 
 
At the ceremony, in order to honor the scientific research works of students with research content on practical issues for students, applicable to the work of the Youth Union - Association and the youth movement of the school, the Organizing Committee of the "Green Torch" award for the 2022-2023 school year organized by the Youth Union - Student Association also awarded the groups of authors who won the award categories: Outstanding Research Method, Outstanding Topic Selection, Outstanding Solution, Outstanding Application Value, Most Favorite Topic - Wechoice (voted on the Green Torch fanpage).
Dr. Ta Thi Bich Ngoc - Secretary of the School Youth Union awarded certificates to groups with excellent topics in the categories of the "Green Torch" award for the 2022-2023 school year organized by the Youth Union - Student Association.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong shared his joy at the achievements of scientific research activities and hoped that the scientific, technological and innovative results of the teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will not only stop at research published domestically, but also reach international level, integrating with the regional and world scientific community.
