The Lê Đình Kỵ Professor and People's Teacher Award Ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year: Honoring academic achievements and continuing the tradition of the Faculty of Literature.

On the afternoon of April 3, 2026, the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) solemnly held the Award Ceremony for the Professor Le Dinh Ky Prize - a prestigious academic award for undergraduate and postgraduate students with outstanding academic achievements and remarkable research in the field of literary theory.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien (Head of the Faculty of Literature), Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature), and lecturers specializing in Literary Theory, who served as the organizing committee. We were also honored to welcome generations of students mentored by Professor Le Dinh Ky, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ly Hoai Thu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Hung, and Dr. Nguyen Van Nam.
Professor Lê Đình Kỵ, a People's Teacher, was a renowned and highly talented educator and one of the leading scholars in the field of literary theory. He served as the head of the Department of Literary Theory and Vietnamese Literature at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature, Hanoi University, from 1971 to 1976. For his valuable contributions to the field of literary theory research, he was awarded the first State Prize for Literature and Arts, the First Class Resistance Medal, the First Class Labor Medal, and the title of People's Teacher. His academic legacy includes hundreds of articles and many valuable scholarly works.
In the warm atmosphere of the ceremony, generations of students of Professor Le Dinh Ky recalled and remembered their esteemed teacher with deep gratitude. In the memories of Associate Professor Pham Thanh Hung, Associate Professor Ly Hoai Thu, and Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, the portrait of Professor Le Dinh Ky emerges as embodying both the elegant and refined demeanor of a teacher from the Faculty of Literature; his tolerance and kindness towards his students; and his profound erudition and wisdom, with a depth of poetic and theoretical thinking. He was also a shining example of self-study, meticulousness, and discipline in research. The valuable qualities and great contributions of Professor Le Dinh Ky in research and teaching will always be remembered and honored by generations of students and will continue to be a guiding light for students of the Faculty of Literature today.

In a spirit of gratitude to her esteemed teacher, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien, representing the Faculty of Literature and also the generation of students who have been guided and grown under the roof of the Faculty of Literature, affirmed the significance of continuing the tradition of research and learning between generations.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien shared:Each award not only recalls the inspiring story of the teacher whose name is awarded, but also represents the efforts of many generations of teachers in the Faculty to create meaningful spiritual gifts for students. This award both demonstrates the continuation of the Faculty of Literature's tradition and serves as a source of motivation for students to continuously strive for their academic goals, so that after graduation, they will carry with them the humanistic spirit of the Faculty of Literature as well as the knowledge they have cultivated to contribute to society.”
Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang read the Decision to award the Professor Le Dinh Ky Prize to the trainees and students.
Following the award selection process based on criteria such as academic achievements and scientific research achievements as stipulated in the Award Regulations, the Faculty of Literature's leadership awarded prizes to the six most outstanding students, including:

- Student Hoang Thi Dieu Linh - Course QH-2024-X
- Student Le Hai Anh - cohort QH-2022-X-VH
- Student Duong Que Chi - QH-2022-X-VH cohort
- Student Vu Thao Ha - cohort QH-2023-X-VH
- Student Phung Thi Thuy Linh - QH-2023-X-VH cohort
With emotion and pride, Le Hai Anh, representing the students receiving the award, expressed her admiration for Professor Le Dinh Ky.
Student Le Hai Anh shared: “The award is not simply a recognition of grades or scientific research achievements. More profoundly, it is a reminder of the responsibility of a literature student, a lover of literary knowledge. Literary research must bring about simple contributions to the spiritual life of society, must spread a humanistic spirit, and above all, must emulate and continue the rigorous academic research that Professor Le Dinh Ky did and aspired to.”
Sharing in that joy, Hoàng Thị Diệu Linh, representing the postgraduate students, said: “This is a very prestigious scientific award for the field of Literary Theory that I am pursuing. The award motivates me to continue researching and interpreting new definitions on my academic journey.”
It can be said that, for each student, the Professor Le Dinh Ky Award is a well-deserved recognition of their persistent efforts and enthusiastic spirit in studying and scientific research.
