Psychology in the context of globalization and the strong movement of the world
As the world is undergoing profound changes in technology, economy and society, human development is strongly influenced by scientific advances and globalization. Artificial intelligence, automation and digital transformation are changing the way people live, work and connect with each other, while posing a series of new challenges in terms of mental health, identity crisis and social adaptation.
The international scientific conference with the theme “Psychology and human development in a changing world” brings together scientists, lecturers, experts and learners from Vietnam, Poland, Australia, aiming at academic exchange and sharing of research, training and practice experiences, contributing to further promoting the connection between training, research and practice in the field of psychology.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities affirmed the importance of the conference's theme in the context of rapidly changing technology and society. The professor emphasized that human development is changing dramatically under the impact of technology, especially artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These factors not only affect the economy but also profoundly change people's spiritual life, relationships and social behavior. According to Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, the international conference is not only a scientific event but also a part of the University's strategy to internationalize teaching and research. The long-term cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Gdańsk is a testament to the sustainable academic development between Vietnam and Poland.
In addition, the Rector emphasized that the potential for psychological research in Vietnam is huge, especially in developing countries - where people's mental health issues are becoming increasingly diverse and complex. This is the time for universities, research institutes, and practice facilities to play a central role in connecting, cooperating, and together promoting research of practical value and high applicability in improving people's mental health.
Psychological science aims at the sustainable development of humans and society.
Speaking in the introductory report of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Thi Linh - Head of the Department of Psychology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized the increasingly important role of psychology in modern life. Associate Professor Trinh Thi Linh believes that psychology is not only the science of understanding but also the science of companionship, helping people adapt, connect and develop sustainably in a volatile world. When the fast pace of life makes people easily separate from themselves and others, psychology is the bridge that helps people find balance again.
