Psychology in the context of globalization and the rapid changes in the world. In a world undergoing profound technological, economic, and social transformations, human development is strongly influenced by scientific advances and globalization. Artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation are changing how people live, work, and connect with each other, while also posing a host of new challenges related to mental health, identity crises, and social adaptation.
The international scientific conference on the theme "Psychology and Human Development in a Changing World" brought together scientists, lecturers, experts, and students from Vietnam, Poland, and Australia, aiming to exchange academic knowledge and share experiences in research, training, and practice, contributing to further promoting the connection between training, research, and practice in the field of psychology.

In his opening remarks, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, affirmed the importance of the conference's theme in the context of rapidly changing technology and society. The professor emphasized that human development is undergoing significant transformation under the impact of technology, especially artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These factors not only affect the economy but also profoundly change people's spiritual lives, relationships, and social behavior. The professor expressed his hope that researchers both domestically and internationally would strengthen cooperation and expand interdisciplinary approaches to address socio-psychological issues in the new social context.

According to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the international conference is not only a scientific event but also part of the university's strategy for internationalizing teaching and research. The long-standing cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Gdańsk is a testament to the sustainable academic development between Vietnam and Poland.
Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that the potential for psychology research in Vietnam is enormous, especially in developing countries – where mental health issues are becoming increasingly diverse and complex. This is the time for universities, research institutes, and practice facilities to play a central role in connecting, collaborating, and jointly promoting research with practical value and high applicability in improving people's mental health.
Psychology aims at the sustainable development of individuals and society. In her keynote address at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Thi Linh, Head of the Psychology Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasized the increasingly important role of psychology in modern life. Associate Professor Trinh Thi Linh argued that psychology is not only the science of understanding but also the science of companionship, helping people adapt, connect, and develop sustainably in a rapidly changing world. When the fast pace of life makes people easily disconnected from themselves and others, psychology acts as a bridge to help them find balance again.

The conference organizers received over 60 research papers of high scientific and practical value, which were selected for publication in the conference proceedings, reflecting the vibrant development of psychology in Vietnam as well as in the international academic community.
The workshop consisted of one plenary session and three parallel thematic sessions, revolving around major research areas such as: Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Family Relationships and Mental Health; Innovative Approaches to Education and Mental Health Promotion; Human Factors and Workplace Environment; and Sustainable Society: Well-being and Technology.
Associate Professor Joanna Różycka-Tran, Institute of Psychology, University of Gdańsk, Poland, presented a paper at the conference.
Professor Małgorzata Lipowska, Director of the Institute of Psychology, University of Gdańsk, Poland, presented a paper at the conference.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Khanh Ha - Department of Psychology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities
The reports broadened the scope of research from theory to practice, from the academic field to the business and community environments. Notably, research groups from Vietnam focused on the application of psychology in real life, while Polish scholars contributed an international perspective on mental health, therapy, and emotional recovery.
Based on the research findings, scientists emphasized three directions for the future: strengthening experimental research and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions; building interdisciplinary and international research networks; and fostering ethics and humanism in the technological age. The working sessions created an open academic space, stimulating many new ideas and promoting stronger cooperation within the network of Vietnamese and international scientists.
The conference not only achieved its professional objectives but also affirmed the role of psychology in promoting the holistic development of human beings. Through the presentations and discussions, it is evident that domestic and international scientists aspire to build a humanistic, creative, and inclusive psychology, aiming for sustainable human development in a rapidly changing world.
