After thirty years of establishment and development, the Faculty of Political Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has affirmed its position as one of the leading centers for training and research in Political Science in Vietnam. The predecessor was the Department of Political Science, established in 1995 with the mission of training and research in the field of political science, a relatively new field in our country at that time. In 2005, the Faculty was assigned the task of postgraduate training (master's and doctoral) for two majors: Political Science and Ho Chi Minh Studies; by 2008, the undergraduate training program in Political Science was officially implemented. Over three decades, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the collective of staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty has always made constant efforts to improve the training program, expand research directions, and cooperate internationally, contributing to laying a solid foundation for the development of Political Science in Vietnam.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Linh - Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council discussed at the workshop
In the context of globalization, international integration and digital transformation taking place extensively, determining the direction, vision and new breakthroughs for the field of Political Science is an urgent requirement. Before the scientific conference "Training and researching Political Science in Vietnam today and global vision", the Faculty of Political Science reviewed and adjusted the training program, clearly defined the goals, development directions and strategic priorities suitable to the characteristics of a basic science training unit in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This process has received many valuable contributions from scientists, agencies, organizations and human resource users.
This workshop is an important step to continue those efforts, aiming to find answers to the big questions: what can Political Science graduates do and where; what capacities, knowledge and skills do they need to be equipped with to adapt to the demands of modern society; after 30 years of training and research, what is the global vision for Vietnamese Political Science; and how can the Faculty of Political Science become a leading prestigious training, research and policy consulting institution, with a high position on the academic map in the country, region and the world.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Dinh Xay - Former Director of the Department of Political Theory, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, discussed at the workshop
