The University of Social Sciences and Humanities expands its bilateral cooperation with Renmin University of China.

On November 5, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) welcomed a delegation from Renmin University of China, led by Professor Zheng Xinye – Vice President, for a visit and working session at the University.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Luo Yaoguang – Education Counselor and Mr. Wang Tingguan – First Secretary, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, representatives of the leadership of the China Institute for Economic Reform and Development, the Center for Party Studies, and lecturers and researchers from Renmin University of China.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Renmin University of China to visit and work at the University. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son emphasized that the cooperative relationship between the two universities is not only a bridge in the academic field, but also contributes to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the people of Vietnam and China. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son expressed his belief that the visits and meetings between the leaders of the two universities, especially the MOU signed in July 2025, will affirm the close and substantive cooperative relationship in training, research, and academic exchange between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Renmin University of China.

Professor Zheng Xinye, Vice President of Renmin University of China, extended his warmest congratulations to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the occasion of its 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary. He expressed his appreciation for the achievements the University has made in the field of social sciences and humanities, affirming that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an important and prestigious academic partner of Renmin University of China in Vietnam. Based on the signed MOU, he hoped that the two universities would further promote the exchange of faculty and students, as well as expand joint research activities in areas where both universities have strengths, such as philosophy, political science, economics, management, culture, and contemporary social issues.
Professor Zheng emphasized that the University is ready to offer scholarships to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and to invite faculty and scholars from the University to participate in international conferences and academic research programs in Beijing. He also shared his desire to establish a joint research office between the two universities in 2026 to promote collaborative projects, especially in the field of economic reform and development.

During the exchange, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang – Head of the Philosophy Department, provided an overview of the department's history, faculty, research areas, and international partner network. He also affirmed the department's readiness to cooperate in organizing bilateral conferences, international seminars, short-term training programs, and international publications of high academic value. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Cuong – Deputy Head of the Political Science Department, emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two sides in the field of contemporary political science and expressed his desire for experts from Renmin University of China to share their experience in managing and publishing scientific journals.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to propose a specific cooperation plan for 2026, focusing on three main priorities: strengthening student exchanges between the two universities through short-term and long-term exchange programs; co-organizing bilateral seminars, workshops, and academic forums on philosophy, political science, and contemporary social issues; and developing research projects and international publications, aiming towards establishing a joint research office and jointly participating in government-level projects.
In his concluding remarks, Professor Zheng Xinye fully agreed with the proposals of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He expressed his belief that the cooperative relationship between Renmin University of China and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities would become increasingly strong, effective, and bring more tangible value to the academic communities of both countries.
