University of Social Sciences and Humanities expands bilateral cooperation with Renmin University of China

The working session was attended by Mr. Luo Yaoguang - Education Counselor and Mr. Wang Tingguan - First Secretary, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, representatives of the leadership of the China Institute for Economic Reform and Development, the Party Research Center, lecturers and researchers of the People's University of China.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of the People's University of China to visit and work at the University. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son emphasized that the cooperative relationship between the two universities is not only a bridge in the academic field, but also contributes to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening the friendship between the people of Vietnam and China. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son believes that the visits and meetings between the leaders of the two universities, especially the MOU signed in July 2025, affirm the close and substantive cooperative relationship in training, research and academic exchange between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the People's University of China. Prof. Zheng Xinye – Vice President of Renmin University of China sent warm congratulations to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its tradition and 30th anniversary of its establishment. He expressed his appreciation for the achievements the University has made in the field of social sciences and humanities, affirming that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an important and prestigious academic partner of Renmin University of China in Vietnam. Based on the signed MOU, he hoped that the two universities would promote the exchange of lecturers and students, as well as expand joint research activities in areas of strength for both universities such as philosophy, political science, economics, management, culture and contemporary social issues.
Professor Zheng emphasized that the University is willing to offer scholarships to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, and invite lecturers and scholars of the University to attend international conferences and academic research programs in Beijing. He also shared his desire to establish a joint research office between the two universities in 2026 to promote cooperation projects, especially in the field of economic reform and development. During the discussion, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang - Head of the Faculty of Philosophy, gave an overview of the history of establishment, the teaching staff, the in-depth research directions as well as the international partnership network of the Faculty, and affirmed his readiness to cooperate in organizing bilateral seminars, international talks, short-term training programs, as well as international publications of high academic value. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Cuong - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Political Science, emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two sides in the field of Contemporary Political Science, wishing to have experts from the People's University of China share their experiences in managing and publishing scientific journals. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to propose a specific cooperation plan for 2026, focusing on three main focuses: enhancing student exchanges between the two schools through short-term and long-term exchange programs; co-organizing bilateral seminars, workshops and academic forums on philosophy, political science and contemporary social issues; and developing research projects and international publications, aiming to establish a joint research office and jointly participate in government-level projects.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Zheng Xinye fully agreed with the proposals of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He believes that the cooperative relationship between Renmin University of China and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will become increasingly strong, effective and bring many substantial values ​​to the academic communities of the two countries.
