This morning, July 10th, 4,685 candidates took the Geography exam – the final subject of the 2011 university entrance exam for Group C.In the Geography exam, there were 2 cases of suspension, including 1 case for using unauthorized materials and 1 case for using a mobile phone, and 1 case of reprimand.
After completing the final exam, the candidates emerged from the examination room feeling relaxed and somewhat relieved. Candidate Dien Thi Van (Ninh Binh) shared: "So, the three exams are over. I feel much more relieved now, as if I've finally gotten rid of all the fatigue and anxiety from the past exam period. I did well on all three subjects. I answered all four questions correctly in Geography today. This year's Geography exam had a distribution of topics related to the curriculum and were all within the textbook." Many candidates also believe that Geography is always an easy subject to score high on, a subject that compensates for the shortcomings in Literature and History. Tran Tien Thang (Nam Dinh), taking the Psychology exam, said: "Geography is always easy to score well on and can make up for the shortcomings in the other two subjects. In my opinion, this year's exam had theoretical questions that were quite close to real-world situations, but the diagram drawing part was very easy to make mistakes if not done carefully." Regarding the question about drawing a graph, many candidates expressed regret after leaving the exam room because they had mistakenly identified the wrong type of graph. Candidate Vu Cong Huy (from Hung Yen province), while discussing with his classmates after the exam, regretted: "I did quite well on the other questions, but unfortunately, I got the wrong graph. Geography is usually an easy subject to score points on, but I made that mistake. Now I can only hope that the questions I answered correctly and the Literature and History exams will help me make up for it."
Although the exams are over and the pressure has eased, many candidates are still nervous and anxiously awaiting the results. Candidate Pham Thi Thuy (Ha Nam) confided: "I was still nervous and anxious during the first exam, Literature, so I didn't do very well, but I did better in the next two subjects. This year's exam questions weren't too difficult. Now I feel more relaxed, but I'm still worried and anxious until the results are announced." Some candidates, after finishing the three exams, confidently stated their results. Candidate Lo Van Thoat (Son La) excitedly shared: "I'm very happy because I did well in all three subjects. My chances of getting into the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are very high. This afternoon I'll go catch a bus back home to wait for the results."
During the recent exam days, students from all over competed together. On the first day, they were still unfamiliar with each other, rushing to prepare for the exams. But after the first exam, the students, who were strangers, were chatting and exchanging answers like classmates. Not only did the students gain companions throughout the three days of the exam, but their families and parents also accompanied them throughout this journey. Parents shared the same anxiety, anxiously waiting for their children after each exam. During the stressful exam sessions, parents outside were equally tense. To share their worries, parents from different regions encouraged, confided in, and inquired about each other's well-being, easing their anxieties. Ms. Duong Thi Hong (Ninh Binh): Sharing the same experience of taking their children to the exam, the parents helped and supported each other, turning strangers into friends. Every day, they gathered in one place waiting for their children to avoid loneliness. Some mothers even shared pieces of bread and motion sickness pills to prepare for the journey back home after their children finished the exam. They hope that one day soon, the parents and their children will meet again at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. From distant rural areas, many parents, visiting the city for the first time to take their children to the exam, received dedicated and thoughtful assistance from the student volunteer team. Ms. Pham Thi Hoai shared: "Thank you so much to the student volunteers. They are wonderful. Without them, I don't know what I would have done. As soon as I got off the bus, they helped carry my luggage, showed me the way, and guided me to accommodation. Thanks to them, my child did very well in the exams." The 2011 university entrance exam has ended. Starting tomorrow, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will begin the procedures for grading the exams.
