Vice Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Kim Son, is providing information to the press on the afternoon of June 2, 2015.
Public opinion is interested in and supportive of the exam.
With a participation rate of approximately 96%, the exam shows that it has attracted significant social interest, especially from students, in the aptitude test organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Participation in the exam showed that all candidates were well-prepared. Most students had practiced with sample tests and adapted smoothly, quickly settling into the format without feeling bewildered or unfamiliar.
At testing locations outside Hanoi, candidates made virtually no technical errors. Technical errors, however, occurred mainly in the Hanoi area. This demonstrates that technical skills are not a barrier to this exam, and that high school students are fully capable of participating in computerized exams.
The candidates participated seriously, adhering to the regulations of VNU, without any uncooperative behavior, and were active from beginning to end. The results of the VNU aptitude test were fundamentally successful, and the candidates' participation played a significant role in that success.
Through this exam, VNU also extends its sincere gratitude for the active cooperation of the 45,000 candidates who contributed to the success of the exam, shared VNU Vice Director Nguyen Kim Son.

The exam format and organization method are appropriate.
The approach and method of organizing the aptitude test at Vietnam National University, Hanoi can be summarized in the keywords: "A single test, conducted in one session, comprehensive knowledge tested on a computer, candidates taking different test papers, results known immediately." This method, applied over eight testing sessions from May 30th to June 2nd, has shown good results, aligning with the objectives of the university entrance exam. This method is suitable for candidates and adapts to the general public's concerns.
Thanks to thorough and systematic preparation, along with consideration of multiple contingency plans, the exam proceeded smoothly as scheduled and achieved many of its objectives. The entire exam proceeded without any significant incidents or issues that affected the overall results. Infrastructure, equipment, servers, etc., all operated smoothly without errors, and the network connection remained stable.
Observing the candidates' performance and the actual invigilation process, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) found that this exam was free of negative incidents. Candidates participated with a positive attitude, were very cooperative, did not rely on cheat sheets, and did not bring any materials. All disciplinary actions taken during the exam were for the offense of bringing mobile phones into the exam room. VNU Deputy Director Nguyen Kim Son shared: "If candidates hadn't forgotten to bring their phones into the exam room, I'm sure no disciplinary action would have been applied throughout the entire exam."

The staff successfully conducted the exam.
This was the first time the exam was organized, but the results from the four days of testing showed that the staff of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in all roles such as the steering committee, examination board, invigilators, and technical staff, had mastered the competency assessment process. This exam was considered fundamentally different from the traditional exam; however, the staff quickly mastered and adapted well to the requirements of operating a new exam. There were no incidents from staff, from invigilators to technical operators, which is a crucial factor in ensuring a successful exam that went according to plan and achieved the desired quality.
As a result, the figures announced by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, show that 72.8% of candidates scored 70 points or higher, indicating a reasonable proportion. This proves that the difficulty levels (easy, medium, and difficult sections) are accurate. Some candidates achieved 125/140, demonstrating the high level of ability among the top-performing candidates.
We affirm that, up to this point, the first aptitude test of Hanoi National University has been a great success. Based on feedback from candidates and parents, most are enthusiastic and highly appreciative," emphasized Nguyen Kim Son, Vice Director of Hanoi National University.

Refine and continue to strive towards creating the best possible competency assessment exam.
Besides the first but crucial and fundamental step in the process of reforming the examination method, immediately after the first examination session, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) considered new updates and reforms to make the competency assessment test increasingly compatible and suitable to the pace of change in high school students, so that students can adapt well and society continues to support this examination method.
The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) still needs to add some points in the coming years. This adjustment is aimed at further improvement, while all aspects such as software, admission regulations, operational procedures, structure, matrix, and exam requirements are all within the high school curriculum. In the future, VNU may incorporate a small percentage of real-life knowledge. This will be announced through mass media.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) also distributed 1500 survey questionnaires to candidates. From these, data was collected for analysis and to draw lessons for organizing the competency assessment exam. VNU will continue to listen to opinions from experts, parents, and the public to organize the best possible competency assessment exams in the future.
