According to Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam, the book “The ancient Tay - Thai people in Vietnam” is the passion of Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Luong’s life as a scientist. Research on the ancient Tay - Thai people is his most in-depth research line and has made remarkable contributions. On the way to deciphering Thai culture, scientist Hoang Luong has oriented his research on the Tay - Thai community in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and the Southern China region. His footprints have been present in many Thai regions in the region and in the world. He also focused on researching ancient Vietnamese culture in the relationship between Vietnamese culture and Thai culture. It is the awareness of the interaction and sympathy between these two cultures that is the important key to help him have accurate and convincing scientific explanations.

Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam affirmed: through his research, Associate Professor Hoang Luong wants to reach the destination of seeing the flow of Thai culture in the flow of Vietnamese culture.
