Having passed the entrance exam to the Vocal Department of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, Mai Linh finally decided to follow the path she had chosen for a long time, which was Sociology - University of Social Sciences and Humanities. And Mai Linh graduated from this major with an excellent score: 3.69.The first impression of this guy is a rather open person, handsome face and polite style. But few people know how "multi-talented" this guy is. From singing, reporting or being a football player on the field, Mai Linh is truly passionate about every position. Born into a family with an uncle and mother who are Sociology researchers, Mai Linh was introduced to this field early. According to Mai Linh, "to study Sociology well, in addition to understanding the theories of classic sociologists, one also needs to have sensitivity and insight into the realities of society". Linh has a good foundation of knowledge and practical experience when during her four years of university, she participated in many jobs and was soon exposed to the research environment. Internship at AVG Television has given Mai Linh a lot of experience and skills to apply to other jobs such as: reporter, event organizer... Passion for studying, researching and working in practice has helped Mai Linh achieve certain results. She received PonyChung Scholarship (2009); Chung Soo Scholarship (2010, 2011), won First Prize in Scientific Research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Encouragement Prize in Scientific Research at the VNU. In addition to her excellent academic achievements, Mai Linh was also the Class Secretary for 4 years and a member of the School Youth Union Executive Committee.
Not only is Mai Linh good at studying, she is also quite famous in music and sports. Right from her first year of university, she and three other members from the College of Arts formed the band Day and Night and participated in student exchange programs of the University as well as VNU. In her free time, Mai Linh often records songs, as a way to satisfy her passion for music. In sports, Mai Linh plays soccer well and has time to play for the University team. In 2010, Mai Linh and the members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities team won the VNU championship cup. During long vacations, Mai Linh often likes to travel with family and friends. "Life is a journey" It is both a time to relax and to explore new civilizations from culture to people. For this guy studying Sociology, each trip is truly a life experience. “What we know is just a drop of water. What we don’t know is a vast ocean,” I suddenly thought of that saying when I heard Mai Linh share about her plans to study abroad. The boy who loves singing, is good at sports and has excellent academic achievements does not want to stop at a bachelor’s degree. In the near future, Linh plans to apply for a scholarship to study in France - a country considered the leader in Sociology, with the dream of becoming a professional sociologist, contributing many achievements to the sociology industry in Vietnam. According to Linh, leaving is to broaden knowledge in new horizons, but no matter where she goes, her love for university remains unchanged, because “leaving is to return”.
