Although she was accepted into the Vocal Music department of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, Mai Linh ultimately decided to pursue her long-chosen path: Sociology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. She graduated with an excellent GPA of 3.69.My first impression of this young man was that he was quite open, handsome, and had a polite demeanor. But few people know just how multi-talented he is. From singing and journalism to being a football player, Mai Linh truly has a passion for every role he takes on. Born into a family where his uncle and mother are sociologists, Mai Linh was introduced to the field early on. According to Mai Linh, "to excel in sociology, besides grasping the theories of classical sociologists, one also needs sensitivity and a deep understanding of social realities." Linh already has a solid foundation of knowledge and practical experience, having participated in many projects and early exposure to research environments throughout his four years of university. Mai Linh's internship at AVG Television provided her with valuable experience and skills applicable to other roles such as reporter and event organizer. Her passion for learning, research, and practical work has led to significant achievements. She received the PonyChung Scholarship (2009) and the Chung Soo Scholarship (2010, 2011), won First Prize in Scientific Research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and an Encouragement Prize in Scientific Research at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Mai Linh served as Class Secretary for four years and was a member of the University's Youth Union Executive Committee.

Not only is Mai Linh academically gifted, but he is also quite well-known for his musical and athletic activities. From his first year of university, he and three other members from the College of Arts formed the band Day and Night and performed at student exchange programs at the University and Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In his free time, Mai Linh often records songs, as a way to satisfy his passion for music. He excels in football and has played for the University's team. In 2010, Mai Linh and the members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities team won the Vietnam National University, Hanoi championship. During long holidays, Mai Linh enjoys traveling with family and friends. "Life is a journey," he says. These trips are both a time for rest and relaxation and an opportunity to explore new civilizations, from culture to people. For this sociologist, each trip is truly a life experience. “What we know is just a drop of water. What we don't know is a vast ocean,” I suddenly thought of that saying when I heard Mai Linh share his plans to study abroad. This young man, who loves singing, excels in sports, and has an excellent academic record, doesn't want to stop at just a bachelor's degree. Soon, Linh plans to apply for a scholarship to study in France – a country considered a leader in Sociology – with the dream of becoming a professional sociologist and making significant contributions to the field of sociology in Vietnam. According to Linh, leaving to broaden his knowledge in new horizons is important, but no matter where he goes, his love for university will never change, because “leaving is to return.”
