QH-2021-X students participate in "Integration Week"

On September 28, 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities opened the "Integration Week" for 2,108 students of the QH-2021-X course from 31 majors and training programs. The week was organized online. The first day had the participation of 484 students from the following majors: Journalism, CLC TT23 Journalism, Public Relations, Psychology, Han Nom, Social Work, Religious Studies. Attending the Opening Ceremony were representatives of the School's Board of Directors, representatives of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, Department of Training, Youth Union, and Student Association of the School.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) welcomed new students to the common home of Humanities. The Rector said that in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic that has not ended, teaching and learning activities of teachers and students will still be carried out online. He shared the difficulties of students in the online learning process. To overcome these difficulties, the University has been taking measures to organize and arrange the most effective learning programs and means for students. He advised students to continue to focus on preventing and fighting the epidemic, maintaining health, and at the same time preparing knowledge and mentality in the first weeks of the semester until studying directly in the lecture hall.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan also shared that the school has gradually innovated its training programs and methods to expand career development opportunities for students. The new training program balances theoretical subjects with applied subjects, combining the provision of basic knowledge and the cultivation of practical skills. The school has also developed dual degree training programs, helping students diversify their choice of majors. Therefore, after graduation, Humanities students have the opportunity to take on job positions in many different industries and fields.
With that meaning, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan hopes that the new students are ready to embark on a new journey with the support and companionship of the School. You will contribute to building the bricks that nurture the glorious tradition, and in the future will become ambassadors of the School.

Following Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Principal of the School) also sent warm congratulations to the new students of the QH-2020-X course who overcame the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic, to be present today in a special ceremony.
He introduced that when studying at the Faculty of Humanities, students will benefit from favorable conditions in terms of resources and environment. The school is a large, multidisciplinary, multi-field, high-quality training center for Social Sciences and Humanities; has a team of leading lecturers and staff with high professional qualifications; has a diverse training structure, strong research facilities to support students' learning and research activities. The school also builds an ideal environment to promote creativity, innovation, and aspirations of students through the resonance between academic training and practice. With the exciting activities of the Union, Association and clubs, students will be able to demonstrate their creativity as well as exchange and learn from each other, contributing to spreading the spirit of "Humanities". You will also have the opportunity to intern, practice, and exchange with students, alumni, and graduate students about the ecosystem, entrepreneurial spirit, and career development opportunities.

To create orientation and increase career development opportunities, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong advised new students to cultivate their thinking about self-study, love of reading and foreign language improvement, and especially the spirit of entrepreneurship. You need to find your interests, personal strengths and seek resources to make your career dreams come true. He expressed his belief that with the support that the School provides, you will be confident enough to determine your career and career development opportunities while still in school.

Next, the new students watched a video introducing general information about the University of Social Sciences and Humanities such as history, mission and vision, faculties and departments, majors and training programs, mass organizations, student counseling and support services, clubs and extracurricular activities for students.
Students also listened to the dissemination of the Student Work Regulations and Political Education at the beginning of the course; introduction of the Youth Union and Student Association; dissemination of the Training Regulations, instructions on registering student information on the VNU information portal, and a presentation on the topic "Behavior in cyberspace".

"Integration Week for Students of Course QH-2021-X" will continue to take place on September 29-30 and October 1, 2021 online. During the week, new students have the opportunity to meet, get to know each other, and share new things about themselves when living in the common home called Humanities. This is also an opportunity for two-way dialogue between teachers and students in a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. In addition to the lecture content, students can also interact with each other, creating connections and confidence when expressing their thoughts, wishes, or things they do not understand about the School.
