Students of the 2021-X cohort participate in the "Integration Week".

On September 28, 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities inaugurated the "Integration Week" for 2108 students of the QH-2021-X cohort from 31 majors and training programs. The week was held online. The first day saw the participation of 484 students from the following majors: Journalism, High-Quality Journalism Program TT23, Public Relations, Psychology, Classical Chinese Studies, Social Work, and Religious Studies. Attending the Opening Ceremony were representatives from the University's leadership, the Political and Student Affairs Department, the Training Department, the Youth Union, and the Student Association.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) welcomed the new students to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Rector stated that, given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, teaching and learning activities will continue to be conducted online. He shared his understanding of the difficulties students face during online learning. To address these challenges, the University has implemented measures to organize and arrange the most effective learning programs and resources for students. He urged the students to continue focusing on pandemic prevention and control, maintaining their health, and preparing their knowledge and mindset for the first weeks of the semester until they return to in-person classes.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan also shared that the university has gradually reformed its curriculum and training methods to expand career development opportunities for students. The new training program balances theoretical and applied courses, combining the provision of basic knowledge with the cultivation of practical skills. The university has also developed dual degree programs, allowing students to diversify their choices of majors. Therefore, humanities graduates have the opportunity to take on job positions in many different industries and fields.
With that in mind, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan hopes that the new students will be mentally prepared to embark on a new journey with the companionship and support of the University. You will contribute to building upon the glorious traditions and, in the future, become ambassadors of the University.

Following Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Associate Professor Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector of the University) also extended warm congratulations to the new students of the QH-2020-X cohort for overcoming the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic to be present today at this special ceremony.
The professor explained that studying at the Faculty of Humanities offers students access to favorable resources and a conducive environment. The university is a leading, multidisciplinary, and high-quality center for social sciences and humanities education; it boasts a team of leading lecturers and staff with high professional qualifications; it offers a diverse range of training programs and strong research facilities to support student learning and research. The university also fosters an ideal environment to promote creativity, innovation, and aspiration for excellence among students through the synergy between academic training and practical experience. With vibrant activities organized by the Youth Union, Student Association, and various clubs, students can demonstrate their dynamism and creativity, as well as interact and learn from each other, contributing to the spread of the "Humanities" spirit. You will also have the opportunity to intern, gain practical experience, and exchange ideas with current students, alumni, and researchers about the ecosystem, entrepreneurial spirit, and career development opportunities.

To establish career direction and increase career development opportunities, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong advised new students to cultivate a self-learning mindset, a love of reading, and foreign language skills, and especially an entrepreneurial spirit. They need to identify their interests and personal strengths and seek resources to turn their career dreams into reality. He expressed his confidence that with the support the university provides, students will have enough confidence to determine their own career path and career development opportunities while still in school.

Next, the new students watched a video introducing general information about the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, such as its history, mission and vision, faculties and departments, majors and training programs, student organizations, student counseling and support services, clubs and extracurricular activities for students.
You will also receive information on the Regulations on Student Affairs and Political Education at the beginning of the course; an introduction to the Youth Union and Student Association; information on training regulations, guidance on registering student information on the VNU portal, and a presentation on the topic "Behavior in cyberspace".

Ms. Nguyen Tuyet Mai (Department of Politics and Student Affairs) disseminated the Regulations on Student Affairs and the introductory political education course.
 
The "Orientation Week for QH-2021-X Students" will continue on September 29-30 and October 1, 2021, in an online format. During this week, new students will have the opportunity to meet, get acquainted, and share their new experiences in the shared home of the Faculty of Humanities. This is also a chance for two-way dialogue between faculty and students in a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. In addition to lectures, students will also have the opportunity to interact with each other, fostering connection and confidence in expressing their thoughts, aspirations, or any questions they may have about the University.
