Special graduation ceremony for QH-2017-X students

On August 26, 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held its 2021 graduation ceremony for over 700 students from the QHX-2017 cohort and other cohorts. The ceremony was held online to ensure compliance with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations during the social distancing period.
Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach - Secretary of the University's Party Committee; Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University. In particular, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Permanent Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, sent words of congratulations and encouragement to the new graduates at the ceremony.

The 2020-2021 academic year was a turbulent and challenging one for students, especially final-year students, in completing their training programs, writing and defending their theses.
Nguyen Thi Hue, the valedictorian of the Sociology department, shared: “After today, I will become a new graduate. I feel a little overwhelmed, with beautiful memories from my four years of university flooding back. I want to hold onto this moment forever, I don't want it to pass.” Nguyen Ngoc Linh, a new graduate in Journalism, expressed her feelings: “I still have my ticket from the ‘First Flight – Welcoming New Students of K62’ program from four years ago. And now the day has come for this flight of youth to land.”

During the ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the Rector of the University, shared with the new graduates: “The faculty and staff of the University are very proud of you – these exceptional graduates. ‘Fire tests gold, hardship tests strength,’ sometimes, in the recent context, there may be some anxiety, some negative thoughts. But this is the time for you to strengthen your spirit and positive thinking to move forward in life. I hope you will be strong and resilient, unafraid to take steps towards the future ahead.”

Associate Professor Pham Xuan Thach - Secretary of the Party Committee of the University - sent the following message: “Congratulations to all of you on completing your studies and graduating from university. Your achievements today are the most meaningful gift to your parents and families, who have sacrificed and supported you wholeheartedly. Carry with you the spirit of “Humanism,” the boundless thirst for knowledge, and step into life. “Knock, and the door will open; seek, and you will find” - keep your faith, keep your determination, and you will achieve success. I wish you a beautiful new beginning and hope you will never forget the memories of your youth at this university.”
