"Taking off" – welcoming new students adapting in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2021, under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, youth movement activities in Hanoi in general and the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi in particular were somewhat affected. However, with the creativity and enthusiasm of the Youth Union members, young people, and students, many activities of the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi were implemented in special forms and methods of organization, receiving widespread support from young people.

In the early months of 2021, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities implemented programs and competitions with new organizational formats while still maintaining the unique identity of the Humanities youth. Typical examples include: the "I am a Humanities student" competition, the "My class is number 1" competition, the "Humanities leader" competition, the "Farewell to summer" program, and the "Green Humanities" volunteer activity - "Exchanging empty shells to express love"... with thousands of students participating in the movement, but the most outstanding among them was the "The Face USSH 2021" competition.

On September 25th, the "The Face USSH 2021" competition, part of the "Taking Flight" series of activities welcoming new students of the Faculty of Humanities, was officially launched. The competition consists of three rounds: Preliminary Round (scheduled from October 4th to October 14th, 2021), Semi-Final Round (scheduled from October 14th to November 30th, 2021), and the Grand Finale (scheduled for early December). With the theme "Shining Heart," the competition is a platform for young people at the university to enhance their knowledge and skills while finding a representative face for the university's youth, embodying elegance, dynamism, intelligence, and compassion.

Sharing about the activities of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in the past period, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh - Vice President of the Student Union of the University, said: “Facing the challenges of the pandemic - an objective factor affecting the work of the Youth Union and youth movement, the work of the Student Union and student movement - the Youth Union and Student Union of the University have adapted to the new conditions, overcome difficulties, and organized events with unique and innovative formats. A prime example is the “The Face USSH 2021” competition, which was organized for the first time in a special format, showcasing the youthful energy and developing the inherent potential of students, while also opening up opportunities to learn and hone their skills. The organizing committee has been implementing the competition effectively, attracting widespread interest from students.”

The "The Face USSH 2021" competition has launched its first round.
